Download Big Fish Games’ Fairway Solitaire and you could win a new iPad!

Big Fish Games has given Sand Trap Community members an opportunity to win a new 3rd generation iPad!  They have a great new iPhone / iPad game called Fairway Solitaire which has received a lot of positive attention from iPad gamers.

I've gotten to play Fairway Solitaire and have to say it's not your average solitaire app; it's a lot more entertaining and is definitely addicting. It's a solitaire card game that folds in a golf theme, virtual money, power-ups and a story about a meddling gopher named McDivot. The result is a fun, challenging and a game you're going to spend a lot of time playing.

As you'll see in the tutorial (dubbed "The Golf Academy"), the game rules are very simple: You're presented with a number of face-down and face-up cards, displayed in a specific pattern, and you must tap on a card that's one higher or one lower than your card at the bottom of the screen.  There a lot of content here – 60 courses (350 holes) in total, mixed in with occasional cartoon cut-scenes that continues the story that include humorous commentary on your performance by two broadcasters. If you see the pesky gopher pop up while playing solitaire, tap him for a bonus.

To Enter:

1). Download the free version of Fairway Solitaire for iPhone, IPad, or the online flash version.

Great! I'm hooked now. I love the story behind the game and actually playing solitaire for different reasons! Great game

This IS addicting. Initially I did not think it would be but it is and I saw one hour fly by playing this game the first time. I like the surprise cards, uncovered cards and the wildcards.  It makes a basic soliatire game a lot more fun and the graphics are certainly very entertaining. GREAT job.

I would rather win Hailey.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
