So I was hitting some drives to relieve some stress and I think I may have stressed a little too much.  ha.  Split my Razr Hawk.  First time I ever broke a driver.  Had this one for a year lets see what Callaway says about it.

Gonna find out in a week or so.  Not too worried about it didn't have a skymark on the ol girl but she did get a pounding. The driver was pretty sweet so I hope I can get another.  If not I think PING is in my future. Will see.

That's not too bad. At least it doesn't throw the earth slightly out of it's natural orbit because or your momentum on the follow through.

You must have been rocks or something. Today's balls are so soft, relatively speaking, that's it obviously a defect in that club. I used to regularly split the inserts in my old wooden drivers- but that hitting the rock hard two pieces of the day.

Wow.  I've always hit it pretty hard and I've only done this once from hitting the ground when I was a beginner.  Where did you make contact?

I rarely miss the center of my driver but this one was caught slightly on the inside. sounded like it exploded. Was hit very hard range balls

Posted
Odd, since MOST range balls are derelicts, rejects and refurbs that don't generally fly as far or as true. Unless your range paints rocks! remember, I said MOST... and I mean public ranges or muni courses with ranges.

they are pinnacle range balls. Just surprised me that it cracked a year later.  who hits rocks with a golf club? Thats the stupidest thing I've ever heard. haha  Maybe when I was a kid with an old club but not a $400 driver

Hahaha....nice Callaway driver!

I can relate..........

The above is probably the last Callaway I will ever buy...........

They said that because it was over 1yr old, the best they would do is sell me the newest model at a discount for $270.  I declined their offer and bought a Taylor Made replacement.  IMO.....they could have easily shipped just a replacement head!

They sell these composite clubs destined to fail, and then don't back up their product when it does............

Yeah if they tried to sell me another driver I probably wouldnt buy their product either. Looks like the composite material gets destroyed on the inside of the club. The new driver hit way better. I wonder if they're purposely making products that dont last long so you'll have to buy one sooner?

Razr Hawk or the better sounding Razr Fit?

No, they don't build them to break. I mean, they build them in China, what do ya' expect? Quality depends on the factory and the supervision.

It kills their reputation to make breakable drivers, although you hear more about breakage over the last couple of years.
