If you are looking at Leupold, beware!  My 2 1/2 year old 3xi display is fading.  Only half of the battery display is visible, and the hundred yard digit is completely gone.  Their "lifetime" warranty excepts electronics.  Electronics are only good for 2 years.  They will make you call them - long hold times - to discuss options.  My option was to buy a new one at a discount.  So I asked if the electronics are any better on a new one and the response was to buy it and find out!

I will be getting another laser range finder, but not a Leupold.

Ouch! I heard Nikon is pretty reliable, but it looks kind of plain compared to the Leupold.

I have a Sig Sauer Kilo2000 which hits pins as well as any proper golf rangefinder. Has a 1200 yard range with on a deer and 2km with a reflective target. It's fun easily hitting flags 550 yards away while other golfers can only reach 400 realistically. :-D I also use it for 1000+ yard shooting practice with my 338 Lapua.

I also have an older Bushnell that worked for many years before I "couldn't find" the proper batteries for it. At least that was my excuse. . .

I have had a Leupold Range finder I got at the 2008 Newport Cup. 10 years old and still works like a charm, in fact it finds pins much better than any of the rangefinders my buddies have.

My old Bushnell works fine if there is a reflector of some sort on the pin.  If not, have a lot of trouble getting a reading at more than 180 out.  My brother's Leupold is much better at finding pins from further out without reflectors.

    • I had a few tweeks in the bag. I took out my Mizuno pro FliHi 3 iron replaced it with a Titleist GT2 7 Wood. what a change that is, so easy to hit, it goes so high without it ballooning on me. I couldn't get rid of my callaway woods ( Rogue ST Max LS ) but changed the shafts to Diamana BB 63 stiff for the driver and 73 stiff for the 3 wood. Than i got myself a new putter Odyssey S2S jailbird yes i joined the centershaft family
    • First off all i think you should use the same ball all the time. We all strive for consistency on the course, the only factor you can be sure it will be always the same is your ball if you always use the same. So i think we should always use the same. I recently switched from Titleist Pro V1x to Srixon Z-Star Diamond because it i get a bit softer feel around the greens and same results on driver and irons
