I was going to ask about the positions. I modified my hitting platform so I could put the front stick in. How close to the target line should it be and what angle? I made my prototype 60 degrees and made a few positions so I could move it depending on whether I was hitting driver or irons. It is basically a piece of wood mounted to the front of the platform with 6 hole positions.

60° will be too much of an angle with the driver. Closer to 45°.

Basically, you want the stick to be on the plane, so if you swing OVER it, you're swinging to the right. (The one in front of the ball, down the target line.)

Thanks @iacas. Also, with a grass range you have to keep moving the sticks finding new grass. Throws me off.

Hit off a tee. 🙂

Wow. I am bad at stick placement. I need to retake stick placement 101. Way closer to target line made swing better.

A little closer to target line. Forgot to angle it steeper though, the front stick. I love South Florida this time of year. This is Miami Shores, renovating, no grass. The previous is Crandon. I used a tee the second time at Crandon, made things a lot easier.

Yeah, if you want to be picky, it could have been steeper. But whatever, it's still the idea that it's there. Just miss it by "more" if it's a little too shallow. Y'know?

I noticed I was hitting it fat more and observed that my upper body was "falling behind" my lower body, or put another way, lower body getting ahead of upper, so more covering (something I still remember Preston telling me like IN TWO THOUSAND FOURTEEN), keep top half of body above bottom half. Haven't been able to get a face on view to confirm it's working yet.

Got a FO view. There's a lot of PA3 going on around A7ish, a little afraid to hit out indoors with the sticks and the chance I might send a piece of PVC into the next stall. Maybe I can get some swings in outside this weekend.

Looks good.

You practice some of the time without the sticks, right?

Thanks!

Doh, most of my practice since the weather turned cold has been pretty rushed, limited time. I’ll add in swings w/o the sticks.

First of 2020. Trying to be more stacked, faster hands, more swings w/o sticks, regripped clubs finally.

Somewhere in Fort Lauderdale next to a university or school.

Definitely option 2. :-P

I’m loco! 😜

Heres one during the day. No sticks, covering, staying in inclination. Super windy but toasty.

I dunno why, I seem to be have better awareness and control of my backswing. I see now why when the takeaway is low, I lift the hands and get across the line at 4. Or am better aware of when hands go too out at 2.

Trying to figure out best way to switch between sticks and no sticks and also changing up clubs, more complex when you are videoing yourself. Switching aim point further complicates things.

Also feel better with the transition. Experimented with stick only in back. Only in front. Upper and lower body feels in better sync, but still not comfortable with getting the arms to fire, chicken winging, left arm folding up post impact. But overall, feels like progress.

This went straight but high right shoulder.

Tried more staying in inclination but started right and turning right a little.

Pause the first video at impact and you'll see it's not so much a "high right shoulder" as it is being a little flat-footed so your right arm straightens a bit more than it should by impact. Weight forward a bit more, turn a bit more, and it's great.
