Yeah sorry, figured I should get there early to check in and get the score cards together.  Also it's an hour drive for me.

No need to apologize, looking forward to golfing with you all tomorrow!

Tried to post this earlier (in " real time") but failed. Our fearless leader (Mvmac) with the first tee shot of the day. Center of the fairway, as usual. (So boring to play golf like that ;))

Anyways ... Had a great time, and B team was victorious!! Everybody contributed, however, Brandon (bplewis24) came away with MVP honors after a solid 81! (Net 69 I believe??) Thanks to everyone who came out!! Can't wait for the next one!

Woohoo!  Team B squeezed out a narrow victory over Team C (115-114).  Looks like the difference was the number one handicap hole, #16.  Coincidentally, that was the hole I did absolutely nothing to help on, and GD had a birdie (net eagle).

Anyway, I had a lot of fun meeting and golfing with everybody.  Thanks to the guys who hosted/helped organize, including Mvmac and Tristan.  Hopefully I can make it down another time.  For now, I'm going to take a nap here at the airport until my flight is ready to board.

Brandon, thanks a lot for coming down!  I thought that was really cool of you.  If you come back again, lets try and get out and play a round on Sat/Sun before or after the TST outing.

Here are some photos of Team A, B and C.  I apologize to Team D and E for not getting photos of you guys.  I tried to take these on the first hole.  If the teams behind us took any pics, please post them!  Great playing with you all today. I had a good time and it was great to meet Big C.  Dude has a very solid swing... Once he cleans up a few hiccups, he is gonna be going low on a regular basis.

Hole #9, 407 yard Par 4.  I had to take this as I had a Cheese Squeeze drive and left myself with 88yds into the green.

Too bad I left the sand wedge 20yds short of the pin and ended up with a par.

Team C, Monti - the Bosox / Bruins fan.  He's a hockey goalie and played well today.  This was taken on #2, a Par 5 up hill.

Team C, our ringer Dan.  A USC Trojan who played quite well.  He shot a Gross 76.

Team C, Big C!  Had a great time with Cullin.  I thought it was pretty funny... He's a Notre Dame alumni, and was riding with Dan the USC alumni.  The good news, we finished without any fistacuffs!

Team B, Brandon aka world beater!  Dude flew in from Norcal to beat some tail and take the MVP trophy from the Socal beach bums.  Nice round Brandon!

Team B, this is Tristan's buddy, Barrett.  But I knew he was a player after he stripped his first tee shot.  I should've known Tristan was gonna bring a baller to help his team win!

Team B captain - Tristan - he asked for a breakfast ball off the first, but I wasn't having any of it! (Hahah busting your chops bud!)

Here's a little pre-shot fake by Tristan - showing off his right leg extension.

Team B, Cheesanator - I didn't know you birdied #16!  Damn son!  That's a legit birdie.  I know Brandon smoked the field, but that was a huge hole for you and your team given it was the #1 handicap on the course.

Team B - The winners of the day (2 of the 4 foursome)

Team B, The other two birds who helped win the trophy... Brandon - don't you just hate taking pics by Cheese?  He makes us look like dwarfs!  Hhahaha

Team A, the infamous Pakoh!

Team A, Golfswine aka Libby.  You know you hit it a country mile when you tee off on #1 with an iron - when everyone else is banging driver.

Team A, MDL (Matt) says he isn't playing any golf and just working on his dissertation.... But will be finished later this Summer.  MDL is on my team next tournament!  Means he is gonna have more time for golf and his handicap is gonna be going down!

Team A, Mvmac getting ready to rip one down the middle.  No kidding - a nice push draw.  Textbook!

Overall, it was a great day... The weather was a little chilly and overcast in the morning, but later in the day on the back 9, it became really sunny with a pretty healthy breeze.  The temperature was around 75 which was perfect.  Especially since the price of your first beer at the bar after your round is the temperature!

Lets do it again this Fall!  My picks are Industry Hills, Goose Creek or Oak Quarry...

It was a great time out there and it was nice to contribute (and win) after playing rather poorly the last time out. I still didn't shoot well but that is attributed to a couple bad holes.

Looking forward to doing this again... I was thinking the fall as well and since Mr. Desmond said he'll be down between 9/24 and 9/30 I say we go for that week. I was thinking maybe in the Temecula area since we haven't been there yet and it is kind of central for everybody.

Brandon was definitely the MVP of the thing and hopefully he'll be able to make it out for more of these outings in the future.

Kaili and I are up for that. If Brad wants to carpool, we can do that too. Our new strategy is to play our courses up here like the next fairway is OB. Then, next time, we'll be ready for these beautiful South County and San Diego area courses. Thinking back, I actually enjoyed the thrill of hitting blindly over trees towards a target pole, then discovering my ball in the fairway. Now I know what is really considered a forced carry. You guys are great at finding these fun courses. Kaili and I are planning monthly trips to this and the last course we were on. It was really nice to have that GPS built into the cart.

Lihu, if you like the last one we played at (Tukwet) I recommend that you try the one just on the other side of the freeway, Oak Valley... That is a GREAT course.

    • playing with cleveland hybrid irons have friends that use hybrids anyone using hybrid irons or hybrids would appreciate fwwdback
    • I dont know if I really have a favorite, but there are two that have stuck in my mind for a very long time. #15 at Erie Golf course during the Finals of the EDGA Matchplay. Was up early and then lost a few holes in row so the match was close again. My opponent had a short putt for birdie. I hit past hole high, but 35 feet right. I drained the putt and looked over at my opponent who was in disbelief.   #8 at Whispering Woods during another year of the EDGA Matchplay. Was playing a very cocky opponent who made sure to mention on the first tee how many times he won the club championship at this course. I hammered this 30 footer that clanked off of the pin and dropped. My opponent was disgusted and that made me weirdly happy. I went on to win 5&3 or something like that, so that entire day has stayed in my memory.
    • Day 20: Did 30 minutes after getting home from work, before kid's baseball practice. This session was piecing out the new hip move in transition, doing 2-3 rehearsals from the top, and then hitting a ball from between P5/P6. Did another 45 minutes after baseball practice and dinner. Did 30 more minutes of what I did earlier, and then about 15 minutes of full swings trying to incorporate athletically.
    • Day 296: did a stack session.
    • Day 126: 5/1/24 Putting and chipping practice. Slow motion swings with 8-iron.
