He had a good year for never really playing football until 3 years ago but it's a risky pick. I'm guessing he either turns out to be a beast or is out of football in 2 years. Generally a team picking at 5 doesn't take the risk but if they feel like they can afford it might be worth it.

There is a very real chance he will fall to the second round but I guess there's a chance for a run on QB's late first round.

I think 2nd round is more likely. The rest of the teams don't need a QB, unless there is a trade.

Hate to admit it, but the Vikings have gotten 2 steals.

Pittsburgh Steelers!

I couldn't be any happier with the pick of Jarvis Jones OLB - Georgia.

Jones, will bring a lot to Pittsburgh's defense and should make an immediate impact. His ability to pass rush is amazing and/or scary, depending on which side of the ball you're on!

Luckily, Jones ran a slow 40 time (4.9) at the NFL Combine and that gave the Steelers an opportunity to draft him with the 17th overall pick.

In just 2 years at Georgia, Jones had 28 sacks, 45.5 tackles for loss, and 9 forced fumbles.

"He's a solid kid, a great player. He was dominant at a major college. He plays the run, chases the ball and, most important, he gets after the passer." -Kevin Colbert -Steelers GM

Am I the only one that hates the analysts and so-called "draft experts".  Meteorologists are more accurate then them and actually act like they know what they're talking about.  Mel Kiper had very few "correct" picks tonight.  I prefer the old days of the draft when it was practically all on the same day and a lot less predicting picks.

I agree, the problem the analysts have is they work for the network and are told to push the big names to keep everyone glued to the television.   Towards the middle - late round last night Kiper kept calling for Manti to be taken.  It was pretty obvious teams weren't as interested after his performance against Alabama, the fake girlfriend hoax and NFL combine.   Gruden kept trying to get lucky by calling for the "Honey Badger" to be taken.  The constant camera shots of Geno Smith waiting to be drafted were a bit sad, most experts didn't see him going in the first round but I guess he was hoping they were wrong.

I believe there is universal hatred for the analyst.  There was one site, Cold Hard Football Facts, that each year would compare a random roll of the dice versus Kiper.  They called it the monkey with a dart pick method.  The monkey always won.

The second day of coverage has now begun...Let's see how many incorrect picks the so-called experts can make today!

Hey, the Jets released Tebow. Let's go Browns, get him!

Hell, he's miles ahead of the legless player you drafted from Notre Dame. That kid is going to crumble like a Jenga tower if/when he ever runs out of the damn tunnel! What's he have, a ruptured achilles tendon, 2 surgically reconstructed knees and a reconstructed ankle as well? Awesome. Yeah, good call on trading the other picks to the Steelers as well with solid picks such as that.

Oh, how dare I leave out the guy we drafted who was busted for selling marijuana... to an undercover officer... DURING FOOTBALL PRACTICE! Or, the other poor kid who has bouts of 'irregular heartbeat'. Now our owner is in a damn FBI investigation for fraud and is trying to quickly make phone calls and pay back the trucking companies who Pilot Flying J rightfully owes money to... while this is being investigated!

I honestly find myself saying this every single year ... but can it honestly get any worse for the Cleveland Browns? Everytime I think I have the answer, which is a hope-filled " Nope ", it manages to get worse lol.

If Slaughter can stay healthy he will be a great addition for a late round pick... everything else I agree

I was apoplectic when I saw the Browns traded their 4th-round pick...to the Steelers, who then drafted a Safety, which is one of the Browns' needs. I was calling for Banner's head in another website. We don't do business with the Steelers - the Browns hadn't made a trade with them since 1968.

But then Banner gave his rationale for the trade - that he thought the draft was too weak to consider players in the middle rounds, and by trading to the Steelers for their THIRD-round pick next year could be a double-win for the Browns - it could both strengthen the Browns & weaken the Steelers in the future. He further stated he has no problem trading withing his division & pointed to the Donovan McNabb trade to Washington when he was with the Eagles.

Okay, I guess I can buy that. It just seems odd to me, but when you've endured as much bad football as us Browns fans have endured in the past two decades, it's time to do things differently.

I heard the Montreal CFL team offered him a QB job ... as their backup. Not even Canada wants to watch him throw a football.
