So the pic at A2 should be the club head covering up my hands with the club face pointing down towards the ball?

Yes like @iacas demonstra ted in his video

@Ernest Jones is spot on with his posts, those pics of Zach Johnson are great examples. @Jakester23 the latest swing was much better with the takeaway. Keep working on the right hand staying "top" with the club face looking at the ball/ground.

So Ive been working on that drill quite a bit on was only able to get a few videos early in the range session looked like rain coming so I went under cover and put my wifes camera away.  I figured out how to get a FO and DTL at the same time which was nice even though one was with my phone. I ended up hitting about 40 drill swings.  Then I hit about 20 full swings. I finished with about 20 3/4 and 1/2 wedges double checking my distance. Ive never hit the half and 3/4 swing shots this consistent. I almost hit the 100 yard marker 3 consecutive times with my 3/4 pw. I was hitting my driver very good I wish I would have got a vid to see if I was still coming over the top. Hopefully later this week.   Thanks for the help with the takeaway guys I appreciate it.

@Jakester23 , nice job with A2, looks much better.  Good to hear contact is better as well. Do the misses tend to be pulls?

I'll get something to you today or tomorrow.

YesI'd say a pull is my miss. At the range yesterday I probably hit 2 bad drives out of 15-20. One was just miss hit and the other was a pull that sliced back and then some. Even when I was hitting my 3/4 and half swing wedges my miss was a pull but those were pretty straight.

Notes

- Right ear slightly closer to your right shoulder. Not so close that they are almost touching.

- Eye line points slightly right if viewed from overhead.

- Keep doing the A1-2 waggle with the palm of the right hand facing the ground.

- For the pulls, start feeling like you "push" the ball, the set-up stuff with help.

Went to the range today and worked on being in a better position at address(my head tilted to the left). I was hitting the ball very well only a few pulls and a few pushes.  I was hitting my driver very good. It seems to go higher than usually but I don't think that a bad thing. I was hitting my iron good as well not nearly as many pulls with the irons.

Good. Keep doing this, then try to PUSH every ball with the path. You'll notice in transition that you're still doing the same thing there.

The other pieces look good. And we know the ball flight laws say pushes occur because the face is right-pointing, but "the path is instinctual" and if you "push it with the path" you'll stop swinging to the left quite so much; you'll keep your left arm in a little more, etc.

So do what you're still doing, but try to shove the ball with the path 10-20° right of the target line.

So are you saying the path on the backswing is good and I should just try to make the downswing path closer to the backswing path?  It looks to me like Im still going over the top.  Should I try to take it to the top and feel like Im dropping my hands down?

You should do all the things you're doing now, continue to do them, and from the top, try to "push the ball with the path."

Shot an 89 today on a course Ive never been able to shoot under 91 at  .  I have a question on hitting the ball out of the rough. I had at 3-5 times where I was in the rough and I ended up hitting the ball over the green.  So I know the term flyer lie and I was trying to take that into consideration and club down.  So my question is how do I know if I have a flyer lie and how much distance do I gain by hitting out of the rough when I have that lie? One occasion I was sitting 144 in the rough so I hit my pw. I usually would hit a 9 from that distance so I hit the pw and I was a good 10 yds over the green.  I just want to know if there is a rule of thumb or if its a case by case basis.

I wonder if this a combination of better contact plus a flyer lie. I think it's hard to know if it will be a flyer or not. It basically depends on how much grass you get between the ball and the club face. There may be more to it but that's all I can think of.

I believe that's why a flier is so treacherous, you can't really predict when you'll get one.

That makes sense. Sense I got my new irons I've been about 1/2 a club longer than my old clubs but these few were ridiculous.
