Yes sir. I also felt like I has hitting the ball very solid.  I was messing around on analyzr and my knee was moving forward and my waist was going more up than just straight ahead.  What do you think?

I know this was directed at Mike, but you may need to watch this. You are dipping down a bit to initiate the downswing. Your right leg gains flex and the knee kicks away from the target backwards. That can possibly lead to fat shots.

Thanks Ill try to keep my back leg from going out and back. Ill look at the vids I shot and see if thats something that is a common occurrence.

Whats odd is I can't see the same thing with my hybrid videos. Maybe its cause the wedges is so much shorter? Im not sure but I will have to go to the range and work on it. Thanks for all the help guys its really appreciated.

Maybe it was just a one time thing then. Don't know...

  • 4 weeks later...

Ive been working on Key #2.  For some reason I can't seem to make it feel right for the driver.  I was hitting my irons real well at the range and have been in the few rounds Ive played.  I have been hitting the driver good when Im kind of swinging with more upper body.  Any help would be appreciated.

Jakester, I have the same problem. Mike posted a vid somewhere about leaning on the inside of your right foot, which helps you to get to your left side (this is for right handed players) I did this when ever I hit driver, and even 3 wood, and it does help. Unfortunately I still haven't come close to mastering getting enough weight on my left side, like I do with my irons, just can't figure it out

Dude, looking really good on the backswing, nice work. If I was to add anything I would say you need to keep that left knee flexed a little longer on the downswing, "press" into that left foot a little longer.

Is this what you're referring to @Hammer 4 ? Yes @Jakester23 I think it would be good to set-up with more axis tilt, meaning the hips are pushed a little forward (towards the target). Spine will be tilted more to the right, little more "reverse K".

Mike, the video was you, showing how to start with the right foot leaned inward, so that it would be hard to put any amount of weight on the right, hence, your weight goes on the left foot. I wish I would have book marked the vid...

Oh, this one?  This one is it. You explain it with regards to the driver on the right. It's actually the flat left wrist drill..doh!

Nope, it was just you in the vid..and it was specifically for the driver.

Should I setup with more tilt just for the driver or for every club?

I would say probably just the Driver. You can accomplish this probably just by bumping that front hip forward a touch to start.

Swing is looking good my friend! What was the ball flight like with the 6 iron in that last session?

It was like a missile ha ha. Its hard to say but a little lower than last year but I feel like its still kinda high. Id say that's more because of the clubs though (being SGI's). I am hitting my irons better than ever this year which is great.

Much of a fade or draw?

Mostly a little draw but my miss which is common is a pull draw. I seem to do that every time I over swing. I do get fades but only once and a while. I seem to hit more fades with the driver than with my irons. I hit a real nice pull draw that cost me a really good 9 last weekend. I pulled a 7 iron on a par 3 OB and made a double.
