Nobody has talked about the biggest championship in Europe going on this weekend, but I have to butt in here.

Marc Warren may have just hit the shot of the year. He had just birdied the first three holes of the back nine to take the lead over Lee Westwood, Matteo Manassero, and Simon Khan, but hit his drive at Wentworth's 13th hole into a fairway bunker. His second shot caught the lip of the bunker, and still had a long way to the green. Momentum broken, right? Wrong; he holes out from the fairway for a most improbable fourth birdie in a row.

Still a lot of golf to be played in the UK, and Warren has several great players stalking him.

WOW. That is awesome, I hope I can find it on a highlight reel somewhere.

Matteo Manassero turned 20 only a month ago. It took four extra holes, but now he's won the biggest tournament on the European Tour - the youngest-ever BMW PGA Champion. He's the first champion in his 20s in 19 years.

What a player Manassero is. Awesome swing awesome short game and he's Italian.. Glad I thought he could be something special when he just made the tour. Can't wait to watch him at Merion

Well a pretty good year as a fan for me so far, both my favourite players now have significant wins under their belts this season (Scott being the other).  I think we will see more from Manassero as he develops and can see him winning a major in his carear.

Went on Saturday but skipped Sunday as I have to go back to Frankfurt for work.

There weren't any big names left on Saturday apart from Lee Westwood and Ernie Els. Followed the last 3 groups for 18 holes and overall I find Wentworth greens a really small target and weren't easy.

I took some videos of Ernie Els at the driving range and will post it up later.

The tournament has a nice carnival feel to it and the organisers have done really well with the tournament village. Food and drinks stalls are set up at least in 12 out of the 18 holes. My mate and I are thinking about going back again next year.

Definitely enjoyed the final round... I had no intentions of watching it, but was up early here in Texas and it was on... Could not peel my eyes away from the screen...

That young guy has game, and he could be someone to watch in the next few years over here...

    • Day 34 (14 Dec 25) - Got outside for a few moments to work on bump and runs with the 4h (again using the exaggerated weight shift reminder of the left (lead) heel). Finding that it helps keep the downswing arc extended.

    • I am currently playing a Cobra Ltdx LS 9 degree driver and Cobra Ltdx LS FW3. Both with Tensei White stock stiff shafts and original weights of 12g (heel) and 3g (toe). My miss is usually a pull fade or sometimes a slice, swing is out to in. Driver swing speed about 112 mph. Grips are stock regular. Intended change: Driver: Switching to Tensei White x-flex one inch shorter which I suppose would be 44,5? Changing heel weight to 18g. Changing grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Change hosel setting to standard draw. FW3: Changing heel weight to 16g (apparently not available in FW weights, but supposed to be something called "internal weight" a club builder can add which fits between the weight and the screw?). Change grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Changing hosel setting to standard +1. The goal is to 1) get better grip since I tend so lose grip in warm and moist conditions with the current grips and 2) mitigate the misses to start more straight with less side spin. Also considering adding the Cobra Ltdx LS FW5 instead of my old Taylormade R9 and getting 14g heel and 6g toe weights with the same grip as the others and hosel setting standard +1.   All of the above is based on conversations with ChatGPT and, as everyone knows, it can come up with pretty much whatever but I spent a few hours asking about different perspectives etc and this was the recommendation. So, my question is basically, does it make any sense?   Thanks.
