How often do you guys buy new clubs?  I bought a set of medicus hinge irons about two years ago and they are pretty much shot.  I take pretty good care off them.  I have left them out in the rain over winter but I don't think that would effect them.  The grips are crumbly because my pastor threw them in the pool at church and them were down there for like a week because I am not a strong swimmer, although i don't think the water really hurt them, it actually cleaned alot of the dirt out of the grooves.  ANYWAY, i went to the range the other day and the hinges were squeaky alot. The distance is still there but would the squeaky effect my GIR?  I called the medicus online chat room, but they were no help, just sounded like a fax machine.

I would recommend a little WD40. That should do the trik.

I would probably find another church or grab your uncle and cousin and demand that the pastor take your dunlop driver.

Was the pastor upset that you were playing on a Sunday or is he a golfer and they his clubs?    The latter is a perfectly rational explanation.

Anyway, don't swing a club that might come apart on you or if your grip might slip.  Dangerous.     4-5 years ago I was struggling with a low-loft driver and hit a bad shank.   Only later did I find that the head got knocked loose on the shaft.   Scary.
