Not sure I want to cough up $150 - $300 for a golf GPS but I was wondering if I took my Garmin Venture e-Trex and marked the center of every hole at my local golf course as a waypoint and label them 1 -18, I would theoretically have a golf GPS. I know, us retirees have to much time on our hands. (I've been using Google Earth to check yardages on various holes so I don't see why it wouldn't work.  :-)

You know you are required to cut off the sleeves of your golf shirt in order to use that properly... ;-)

Curiosity got the best of me . . . I'll see how this works.

If I didn't have a smartphone app, I would do this. Great idea, thanks for sharing.

Actually, two weeks ago we had a guy in the group in front of us who was playing with no shirt on...

I'm pretty sure that for it to be redneck, it would involve a gunrack mounted on a cart.

Swing by swing worked on 18, but batteries went down to 10%. Crashed once, but recovered the position and score. Golflogix tried on 9 holes, yesterday.

I thought a redneck GPS had to include some form of Duct Tape :p

Hey, Duct Tape is in the mainstream. I built this enclosure out of Duct Tape for a Peltier cooled CCD camera 8 years ago. Still works.
