Erik you should look into the 2011 jeep grand cherokee as well. They are pretty nice

Not the best opinion of JEEP in my household, but okay.

Posted! It's a bit of a long read, but I wanted to give you a fair overview instead of my personal "ZOMG AMAZING" perspective

Thanks.

Sorry for the short diversion. Back to topic...

Nice selection! Almost mirrors my own families choice of vehicles! We've had A4s, M6s, W210s and S Classes....any particular reason you switched from the W221 S Class to the new 7 Series? Am an S600 owner myself so interested to hear your thoughts.

Good call on the G-Wagen!

thank you for the compliment

the 7 is a much more sportier ride, its more responsive and handles better then the 550, it is also quicker or feels that way.... the best way to put it, its like the S is a "floater car" Pure luxury.... i have always said (from the german class cars), if you want pure luxury get a mercedes, if you want pure sports car, get a porshe, if you want a mix of both, get a BMW On another note, the 7 might just be around till the new S comes out in 2012 as a 2013 model.... so i love both cars... the G wagon was an unbelievable truck.......... driving here in NYC, i felt like i could barrel threw just about anything with the G. can anyone guide me as to how to put pictures up????

Interesting, I suspected it was to do with the sportiness aspect. Have you tried any of the AMG W221s?

I agree the V8s in the W221s do feel rather lame, stepping up to the 600 (bi-turbo!) gives a lot more oomph. I scare passengers quite a bit because although my 600 has the AMG appearance package you'd never really guess it was as quick as an M5 in a straight line.

Very nice. Love the W140 with AMG monoblocks and the CL, which to me is one of the nicest looking Mercedes ever produced.

Personally I'm not a big fan of the 63 AMGs, they sound amazing but they really lack in torque department compared to the 600 and 65 AMGs.

Is that AM a Rapide?

i personally like the 63's, but BMW's M's are definatly much more fun to drive.... my Problem with the 65 is that i could find a hand full of cars to spend 175k+ on, and not a mercedes.. lol

and yes its an AM Rapide, i had the car in LA for a couple of months. (i didn't own it)

True, at that price point there's a fair few cars I'd rather get...a bit more $$$ will get you into a Flying Spur for example, which makes even the designo/600/65 interior look like a Kia...

The 65s do make incredible second hand buys, even at 18 months to 2yrs old they're 50% off the MSRP!

Very nice, I'm fairly certain my uncle with a car fetish (and connection at AM for being a regular) has one on order. I'm very jealous.

They took the right direction in styling these finally. They were hideous before.

And when you have this to drive who cares about gas mileage

lol, what kind of gas mileage you getting in that thing with all those add ons that bring down MPG big time, like 8 MPG?

I get about 11 on my commute to work in my truck.

I get anywhere from 10-13 in the city and around 15 highway. Its really not that bad. The truck is geared for the bigger tires so it doesn't phase it much.

    • Day 336 - Back to some full swing work. Focus was on a hips-towards-the-target finish, chest higher up. Partial swings working up to full swings.
    • Day 79 - 2024-12-18 Got some work in before lessons while finishing the charging of the R50.
    • Matt, the equation is simple from my perspective. Stronger the grip, greater the potential of application for twist torque at impact. And if it it is combined with an extreme outward path as you say, god help you. Not too many skilled players with super strong grips, are there? Sure, it's all about match-ups but the connection to super strong grips and duck hooks is common from what I see and have dealt with myself.
    • Day 154: not feeling great, so just 5 minutes of mirror work. Working on backswing stuff still.
    • I have been a big follower of this technology ever since I saw Positive Putters display at a golf show in the Revealer they invented and patented. That would have been around 2000. It made sense to me that staying target line balanced was a better way of balancing.  Early models of these putters were often too flat for me and I struggled to hole more putts. I was fascinated by all of them - Positive Putters, the Railgun, the SeeMore blades and the Backstryke. I have tried the DF1, which was great for long putts, and currently use the DF3. I am still really good at long putts with the DF3 3, having made a 90’ putt and a 34’ putt in my last two rounds. My first round with the DF3 I only had 24 putts making almost 200’ of putts. I don’t quite use the putter the way they suggest- I don’t swing harder, and only a little longer, on longer putts. All my putts are at the same tempo, or strive to be. Therefore, I am swinging harder on longer putts. I do love putting with the DF 3 and I have become much better at putting through 50-60 mm gates at home, rarely hitting the sides.
