@Abu3baid those stats for your last few rounds look awesome, 52% GIR is very good going. I think that handicap index needs updating ;-)

Thanks Foo, but I'm really just using these as a measure of my progress.. a few months ago I would have been lucky if I was even at 15% GIR (things were so bad that I never bothered to track.. although I do have scores of mine.. I was shooting well over 10-12 per 9...

The number I did like was the 44% GIR on the last game I played at the real champ. 18 course I played last week.  I think once I have 5 games under my belt at that other course then I will update the HC.. I'm hoping that it will be below 18!

Name Distance Par
Hole 1 263 4
Hole 2 120 3
Hole 3 156 3
Hole 4 376 5 (Dog Leg with a lake in the middle)
Hole 5 325 4
Hole 6 252 4
Hole 7 250 4
Hole 8 256 4
Hole 9 92 3

I wanted to throw this in as a reminder to my self of where I was and where I am now in terms of my A4 progression since I joined Evolvr.. There is just no comparison really of where I was and where I am now imo of course!  It really serves as a reminder to my self that change is 2 things.. not easy & takes time!

i.e. today is 05/08/2014

what do you guys think?

Excellent stuff! Keep up the good work. I think most golfers (not here) don't realize how important it is to try and get A4 right and much easier it makes getting many of the keys right. Keep on keep on viding!

Thanks Matt.. I am hoping that at some point when the changes are very minimal I will be able to have a pretty cool timeline, for all positions.. or just the important ones really..

Even though my priority has slightly changed from Key#1 I know that I still need to pay so much attention to it to make sure that I don't regress, or I risk retarding my progress...  This whole timeline has only been working on steady head key#1!

Thanks for the support!

I have to admit things have been going very well for me.. I am very happy with my short game and putting.

My iron play hasn't really let me down at all (except in a few situations) and my 3H is reliable at least.

The big elephant in the room is my 3W & Driver for now, and I can't wait to start tackling those.  Stephan has been doing some great work with me, and I hope to continue.

The main pieces from before were getting a slightly weaker grip than before, and making sure the club face is close to perpendicular to the target line at A2.. I'll see what Stephan thinks as we continue..

Why do you think that is?  I ask because I have issues with those clubs as well.  I think my problem lies in the fact that I try to crush the ball rather than making a smooth swing and letting the club do the work.  Is that your also problem or do you think it's something different?

Golf is hard.

I'm not really having any issues in terms of trying to crush the ball.. I think that I have not given them enough attention at the range.. All my practice at home is with a pitcher and most if my practice at the range is with an 8i and sometimes I'll throw in there the 3h.. My swing had also been significantly changing over the past 4.5 months so I have path and club face issues that need to be smoothed out.(I think I'm almost there though) I know that change needs to be done slowly, however once change is there I still need to probably have a session or more of jus hitting driver full speed and then recording my flight and distance to really measure where I am.. This I haven't done so I have no confidence, plus the lady time I used the driver I think it was one big push slice so I just put it away.. I really need to have the session I mentioned and find out what is my miss and then I can address it with Stephan IMO.

Thanks maddog.. I know it's a long way to go, what is great is the improvement I am seeing and the picture changing to the better.. The Dr will eventually come alon I know it, since the swing will be the same! The process of getting there should be the fun part right?

Yeah, I suppose.  To be honest though, I'm more interested in the results. :-)

Golf is hard.

Just wanted to give my self something to think about and remember.

The situation is this.

I was hitting the ball the best I ever had with my irons for a couple of weeks, basically it started once I really addressed the steady head to about 95% satisfaction from my self and Stephan.  Just nice pure contact, but with mostly fade spin, although the result was never more then 5 yards off target at the most really.. (wasn't doing too well with 3W or Driver though)..

I submitted a video and Stephan started moving me towards drills to start promoting the in-out path..  The issue is probably in my attempt to do the drills I re-introduced my unsteady head to the swing because of how I changed my take back to be able to accommodate the time I felt it was necessary for me to be able to even make that exaggerated move of laying the club down to get to in-out.  My contact went down the toilet, and I know that some might say that well this is a necessary evil, but I don't think it is.

I decided to go back a few lessons to see if I can see something to bring me back, and sure enough I watched one of the previous lessons and I started doing those steady head drills again, and today I was able to get back to getting some very solid hits without any fat shots.  Also, I just stumbled on to something that Stephan has been trying to get me to do, but the feel wasn't working for me before, but basically I want to really feel like my left knee is coming down.. I know that it is not, but it sure feels like it, and I'm just able to generate so much time, and speed in my swing that I am all excited to try it on the range..

I want to really get my contact and back swing to the point where I never have to think about steady head again, and since my next priority is really the path I can address it later on and work on it slowly and introduce it slowly into my swing as well.  This is really the best I have ever felt about my swing, and about the great instruction that I am getting.  I guess the only thing I can say is that it is so disappointing that I didn't discover 5SK while I was in the states, I guess I can just day dream sometimes of where I would be now if I had started back then.. I'm sure I'm not the first person, nor the last to say that though!

I wrote too much there, but figure it will be a good reminder some day for me when I re-read it some day down the road!

Is this what I should be striving for at impact?  To have my club inline at impact with my set up position?

Will play 9 in the morning with the boss and then spend time at the range mapping out the two drills given to me by Stephan.. Will hit everything at 25%!or so and then Will video a few full swings and my mapping for evolvr upload.

My name is AbuObaid and I have an OTT swing and I am also part of an exclusive club of overswingers as well.. I'm combining the best of all worlds into one swing.. The problems have been diagnosed correctly and the medicine has been administered.. I am practicing as my coach wants me to and performing my drills correctly. It is only a matter of time and effort that I will be a recovering OTT overswinger and then I will keep track of the number of days so that I can always remember where I was.. More importantly I promise to never relapse and I promise my self to enjoy fade free golf..* Details to follow.... * unless I want to play it that is on a specific hole

I promise my self to enjoy fade free golf..

I don't think you should be too fixated on draw vs fade. Lots of pros hit a fade as their stock shot. Fix the swing and let your natural flight be what it is.

This is good advice.. and I agree with you.. However, I said that for 2 reasons.

1.  I was just being nice to myself when I said "Fade" free golf... I really meant to say "Slice" Free golf

2.  My Evolvr coach Stephan would rather me not play the fade because I don't really have the specific alignments nor the swing speed to play it well
