Andy Reid will no doubt go down as one of, if not the, best coaches the city has ever had (and deservedly so). Having said that, he also benefitted from having a great defense and one of the best defensive minds in football for a good stretch of his tenor with the Eagles (kind of like what he's inherited in KC). He helped bring football back to this town and it was great while it lasted, but it was definetly time for him to go (for his sake and the sake of the team). Jury's still out in my mind on Chip Kelly, like a lot of what I've seen so far, but some of the 4th quarter play calling has been flat out horriffic lately.

It's not so much the playcalling as the pace. They get to the line of scrimmage and just stand there for 20 seconds, waiting for the play clock to run down. They would be better off if they just huddled up, because it's not like they are checking off on the play when they are at the line. They're just standing there. Can't be good for rhythm, which is an important part of what Chip is trying to do.

Either huddle up or just keep up the frantic pace. That seems to work for them most of the game anyway.

Weather playing havoc with games on the East coast, especially in Philly and Baltimore. Two really crazy games.

I didn't think the Eagles were going to score a point and they scored 5 TD's.

Screw the Pats, screw the refs, and screw the NFL. I hope they all get F***ing herpes...pieces of shit. Worst officiated game I've seen in a loooong time. When even the commentators are on Cleveland's side...you know it's bad...

I've typed up two (three now) replies only to have Safari reload the page. There was a shitty defensive holding call in the end zone that went the Patriots' way with about 40 seconds left. They ended up coming from a few TDs back in the fourth to win it by one. There were a few other bad calls, most that went against the Browns. I'm more upset that the NFL's moronic inability to officiate hits led to the legal, but stupid, hit on Gronkowski that tore his ACL.

The Niners played a great game and deserved the win. We played horribly,, 10 penalties and couldn't capitalize in the red zone. Hats off to the Niners.

I don't see that as the NFL, but the player himself.  He's so impossible to drag down when you hit him around the shoulders that he forces DB's to go low.

Ward's only purpose was to injure Gronkowski on that hit.  He went low on purpose to take out his knees.  There is no excuse for his actions regardless of whether the NFL calls it legal or whining by defensive players about high hits.  He intentionally went at his knees.  Zero class on his part.

As for the PI, the refs ignored other PI's earlier in the game that were blatant by Cleveland.  On the final play, the DB grabbed the left arm of the receiver as he was trying to extend for the catch preventing him from reaching out for the catch (arm bar).  Obvious PI.

I don't think they can be called ignored calls because that would be clear bias, refs (at least the better ones) try to let the players play the game as much as possible, holding could be called on every single play if they wanted to get strict as hell, just like PI could be called when players feet tangle up just from  running  or reaching for the ball but if it was a real ticky tack call that impacted the outcome then that's unfortunate.

The defenders know they risk serious penalties if they go high, so it makes sense that they'll start going low. What other option do they have?

Yeah, if you can't tackle high, and you can't tackle low, where can you tackle? Within two inches of the waist? A smaller "strike zone" than MLB? Please.

    • 39, +4. A bit better hip slide stuff. More lateral, less turn with the hips.
    • Day 11: Worked on putting with the metronome
    • I added to total today by hopping it in on the first hole for an eagle. A short par 4, I hit 4 wood to 110. With a little breeze in my face I hit a 50 degree gap wedge to 2 feet and watched it hop into the hole for an eagle 2!
    • Sounds good. Text me if you have any questions. You have a good setup, too, and so long as you can get good camera angles… you should be good. https://skillest.com/@iacas
    • Day 14 (September 18).  Morning practice, despite questionable weather (it's raining).   Worked on chipping at first, including run-ups with UW and PW;  I've noticed lately some of my near-GIRs are missing forward, with nothing but grass ahead of me, but 20-30 yards to the pin.  After a few misadventures putting those lately, I wanted to at least get a feeling for what a 30-yard chip shot that doesn't have the variance of my quarter lob wedge would feel like.  I still think "putt when you can putt" is right, but... I am less sure I have a 30 yard putt in me.  Range time also, of course, same routine as the past week or so (drill, 3-4 slow shots, etc).   Did not get to the putting green as it was starting to come down a bit more. Darn, it really is raining.  And I thought today would be a perfect day to play, seeing as how it's 9-18 and all.
