3 feet!  3 feet!

Does anybody know how long his round was?  I'm guessing it was under 5 hours?

Looks like it will be low round of the day by 6 shots and breaks the course record by 4.  I wonder if that is the first 59 on Tour with a 3 putt?  Amazing playing

Appleby.

Quote:
Stuart Appleby was the last to shoot a 59 in an PGA Tour event at the 2010 Greenbrier Classic. Others to accomplish the feat are Paul Goydos (2010 John Deere Classic), David Duval (1999 Bob Hope Chysler Classic), Chip Beck (1991 Las Vegas Invitational) and Al Geiberger (1977 Memphis Classic).

Interesting that the list is not exactly a who's-who of Hall of Famers.

Bonus: is "who's-who" the correct usage?

Outstanding round especially since the other players did not break par by much.  I liked how the other players were all watching history in the making and applauding the result.

Was Geiberger's on a 72?

Yes with lift, clean and place.  He won the tourny without a round in the 60s.

How did Tiger's double on 1 turn into an 8?

I was wondering the same thing...

When I first looked at shot tracker, he was over the green in 2, on in 4 with 2 chips and 2 putts for 6.  Now his 3rd shot is a penalty stroke and there is no description of his 4 making his 1st chip his 5th shot as opposed to his 3rd.  So maybe a 2 stroke penalty for TW

He was assessed a 2-stroke penalty for his ball moving.
