Always like the "what have you done for me lately" ... get off the tour way of thinking Let me see ... 79 PGA tour wins ... 40 European tour wins ... 14 majors ... regardless if he never wins a again, he career will not be in the ruins ... it will always rank as one of the top careers ... and with a record like that, the PGA will let him play just about any event he desires ... one could argue he earned his place. If I am a vendor at a PGA event, I hoping upon hope he does show up ... its more $$ in my pocket. Tiger is an incredibly private person, and IF he had a mental coach, which he may, you can bet we the general public would never know.

And 3 Amateur National Championships.  His career is incredible.  He still has time to recover.  I just think he is so concerned about injury that he is trying to find a swing that will not hurt him.

His game is in ruins now. Bringing up his past history doesn't reflect the current state of his game now.  No one in his right mind will argue that he had one of the greatest stretches in golf, ever.  Thread from what I can see is addressing the current state of his game and the need for help in becoming one of the best in the world again.

Haney fired Tiger, and he was not straight with a driver with Haney. He was also younger, had great iron play, and his short game was great. The best scrambler -- because he was not straight but a scrambler, he turned a 76 into 70. Now, he doesn't have that short game and the 76 is an 80.

If you went to a Hank Instructor, you would know that it is weird instruction. I think Tiger taught Hank more than Hank taught Tiger.

I find that very hilarious.

Yet true.

It happened about 5 months or so after the scandal and Tiger was still sorting things out.

And Haney, if you did not notice from his tv shows, likes hard workers and is not a patient man.

He texted, I believe.

Not quite true, Haney knew he was getting the boot and decided to "fire" Tiger before Tiger fired him.  I highly doubt Haney would have terminated the relationship if Tiger wasn't giving him plenty of indications he was about to get fired.

The story I heard was that Tiger was shocked, that they were working on things, although I suspected that Hank decided to pull the plug before he got plugged.

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
