I'm having issues with my driver, too.

It's probably the same issue: stance too wide and not getting Key #2. I don't remember seeing your driver swing in a while.

Even though it's on a tee and we're hitting up on it, would you say that the only difference from the DTL view from the 3W would be to stand up a slightly taller and having the hands a bit further away from the body?

Your 3 wood stance probably won't look that different than your driver stance.

I only mentioned the difference in the address position because you said it seemed hard to narrow your stance. I'm just saying, if you kept everything else the same, you'd just end up standing a little taller and your hands would hang a little bit farther away.

I'm not sure I'll be able to get on the course tomorrow but if I do, I'll try and get FO and DTL videos so hopefully you can take a look.

Oh, I appreciate you're taking the time to look at my swings.  I need all the help I can get, haha!

Sorry this is so quick, but try not to lay the shaft down with your shoulders. Do it just with the forearms, elbows, wrists…

Yes, as Erik said, beware the "tippy" shoulders. I wasted a ton of time grooving that move. Bad news. Something that has helped me immensely is to put a second ball down about 6" ahead and 6" outside of your ball. Now swing as naturally as you can (don't try to manipulate the club too much) but try to hit both balls. YMMV.

Thanks, fellas.

I read this last night and started implementing it during today's morning practice.

I'm worried my neighbor's won't like it if I I put a ball 6" ahead and 6" outside of my ball and take a swing while using my net, though. :loco:

Went to the range today a did a couple vids. It was the first time I've done this drill outdoors over the last week or two and I probably should done it more slowly.

Oh, man, so I need help. So, I played a round on July 3rd and on the front 9 I was hitting my driver like I normally do and then on the back, all of a sudden, I got no lift with it and at most my drives were going 150 yards. I played 9 holes three days later and the same. Life got hectic (hence why I haven't been around much) and only calmed down Friday and this was the first opportunity to go to the range and record myself. I'm hoping I might get some advice as to what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it. Drives (and all woods and low lofted irons) have a very low ball flight and are start out straight and then hooking. Here are the vids I took today after work.

You're hitting, if these are any indication, some HUGE pulls.

How where your drives on the video? I know I abandon key 1 and 2 a lot as the round progresses ... but on the range I am the range king prior to a round.

Pulls go really, really low.

They go hand in hand.

Ahh. Well, if I don't fix this soon my golf season will be over for the year, haha. :(

Are you pull hooking?

Maybe you could open the face a little and play a bit of a pull fade for now??

It seems to me like that would be more like a quick fix for maybe in round play rather than fixing the root issue.

So… begin to fix it.

If you want a "KISS" thing you can try yourself:

1) Put an alignment stick down toward your target.

2) Tee up a ball a few inches behind it so that you can hit over the stick.

3) Put another alignment stick LEFT of your alignment about 10-15°, near where your toes would be.

4) Point your toes/feet left along that stick.

5) Push every ball to the right. Try to feel you're doing it with the "path" because if you continue to swing left with the face just pointing right (which is actually what "pushes" the ball right), you'll hit HORRIBLE slices.

So basically, aim left and try to "push the ball with the path" (even though we know that's not actually how it works) to the right where the target is.

    • Day 132: did some mirror work while watching TV. Worked on backswing stuff primarily.
    • 26 Nov 24 -  It was not a record breaking round by any means, but rather a simple walking of the back nine today playing TBWB (two ball-worse ball) where the challenge is to play the worse of the two shots played - could be an errant drive from the woods, a tree knocked ball that is 100 yds farther back down the fairway, a nGIR ball as opposed to a GIR….the goal today was to stay no worse than bogie thru nine.  Managed to achieve that goal - bogied 7 holes with one dbl and one par to counter the dbl.  It’s about staying focused and not letting a bad shot or lie derail, but rather be an opportunity.
    • Day 208 (26 Nov 24)- Opted to walk 9 today (was the back nine as they had a huge group going off the front) but instead of it being persimmons and blades, I had the regular gamers but made it a TBWB (two ball-worst ball) round.  This really challenges on several fronts - ball striking to be as consistent as possible, course management from non-optimal lies and keeping your head in it as it can be depressing to nail a shot on line-on target and the second rattles the trees right and it’s over 50 yards back and that’s the one you have to play.  The goal was to be no worse than bogie overall (+9).  Finished the round exactly on the number with some solid recoveries, no penalty strokes and only one 3-putt.
