He must have improved a bit.  Wasn't his handicap around 1.5 or 2.0 before?  Isn't that a solid jump in handicap at that level?  Or am I making too much out of it?

I can't even imagine what kinds of things you need to do to eliminate 1.3 strokes from your game?

I'm still at an 8.2 for next weekend.

Mike, Tristan, Pak ... does anybody know if the course has a restaurant?  I've only playe there once and don't recall one, and can't find anything on their website.  They have to at least have a bar inside for us to grab a drink afterwards ... I hope?!?!?!

My son said he would be comfortable with 15 again (He was shooting even better before Christmas break).

He is a bit rusty, but this would force him and me to be more serious before every shot. Keep us both at 15.

Just curious, do you guys not actually post your scores, or at least keep track of them? It would be so much easier if you had a real handicap instead of just kind of guessing at it, especially when it varies by 3 strokes.

Sorry, Tristan.

My son just told me to put his actual handicap to play fair. He was on his way to a lower handicap, but took a month break over the holidays. He did not hit very well the last two weeks, and his short game was pretty bad. We played a couple night par 3 rounds for his short game and video taped his swings to give him feedback on what he needed to improve. He is starting the preseason training tomorrow, and will most likely be back to where he was a couple months ago by the time we play.

My handicap is still WIP. I could score pretty much anything from a 42 to a 57 on 9 holes. I feel I should give you the 42 side (15 handicap) so I don't give our team a potentially an unfair advantage. If the course looks friendly to my swing, I could put the ball in a nice position for second shots on the par 4. If not then I lose, but at least I didn't "cheat".

Hacker101 might hate me for this, but put me down for a vanity cap of 15. ;-)

Same format as before?

80%, best 3 of 4 scores on this scale:

Albatross: +7

Eagle: +5

Birdie: +3

Par: +2

Bogey: +1

Double or Worse: Nada

Again, a team that shoots its handicap (which is still possible since we're taking 3 of the 4 best) gets three players with two points apiece (+6 total) for 18 holes, or a total of 108. Realistically, anything over 100 is pretty good.

Sounds good to me! Btw, pretty sure Pakoh and swine are both 6's.

@Pakoh has 16.6 listed in his profile for whatever reason, and @GolfSwine has 6.2.

So unless they give more information, then, here goes:

I'm pretty sure there is somewhere to get a snack or a drink at the main clubhouse. If not there are plenty of places nearby.

Is anyone able to get scorecards beforehand and mail them to Mike or something so that I can make up the cards before the round?

If not we'll just have to get there a bit earlier, which isn't a big deal.

Not me ... but you might be able to get a pretty good copy off their website.  Looks like they have a full size PDF of it that you can probably print ahead of time.

I looked quickly and didn't see a PDF. What's the URL?

    • Day 22: Hit balls with 7-iron using mevo+ to track dispersion. Was out for a long time after work; 86 balls but the first 50+ were 50% swings focusing on top of backswing feel and then just hitting the ball as a psychic reward. Finished with 20 balls close to full speed. Pretty happy with dispersion and also no horrendous misses. I’m chunking my priority piece out into two separate feels, first and more important is the position/balance at top of backswing which is what I was working on. Once I have that engrained I’ll move to transition part.
    • FWIW I never really had issues with the previous generation of Snells. But… I'm not sure I played them a ton, either.
    • I know Dean Snell designed the original Pro V along with a couple of other brands tour balls.  How exactly does the Snell ball have problems.  Did he change something in the design or is a manufacturing error since he cannot afford the unlimited R&D budgets of the big manufacturers to iron out flaws
    • I've played the Tour in both white and yellow.  They play well and seem to hold up pretty good even when running into trees or cart paths.  Right now, I've been trying them against the Bridgestone Tour B RX ball and I really like both.  The Snell 3.0 looks to be a great update to the issues Snell was running into with the previous generation.
