That's OK. Gary Player likes Gary Player enough for the both of you.

I'll add some love along with Gary haha.

I think he's incredibly interesting to listen to. Very intelligent.

Say what you will about GP, he made some sense when talking about keeping the weight down/losing it. Eat half as much, walk. It sounds like crazy homespun advice, but I'd agree with him.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

Anybody see the slo-mos of Reeds drives?  He has the same weird move as Bubba Watson where his front foot comes off the ground and rotates around 8 or 12 inches.

But, boy, is that dude on fire!  His current caddy is really ugly tho ... bummer.

If i saw those shadows moving along my driver/sight line....oops, bye-bye ball.  Looks like a dance floor move Reed has going.

I went a little loco w/my camera - here's a bunch of slow mo vids from La Quinta today. I mistakenly posted this in the Rickie Fowler thread. At the risk of duplication: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcIepsGiAiWM6oqhXGSkNJVM8odGVQUO6

If you think he's fat, then your perception is way off.  Everyone knows that Gary Player is a work out fanatic. He was one of the pioneers in golf when it comes to working out and doing golf specific exercises.

Gary is active and looks good for his age but has wacky work out routines and his dietary recommendations are marginal at best. I think he's over hyped but he is healthy. He does have belly fat too but at that age it's inevitable. I hope Reed brought his sun tan oil today.

Totally agree...Player is just fit compared to most golfers his age (or in general). They showed a clip of him doing his wacky workouts and he was doing crunches...by far the least effective workout ever. Good for him for staying motivated, but his workouts are more than dated.

Yeah, that would be the one, thanks! Pretty interesting move.

Really like the way his left knee works, inward and downward, keeps his hips cranking back.

Yeah I heard him say to lose weight, "walk and eat half of what you eat now".  Not a great two point plan from a health enthusiast IMO.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
