I was just wondering what everyone likes to hit for the majority of shots. Draws, Fade or straight.

Like to hit? I generally prefer straight. Unfortunately with my 3-wood and driver I generally hit a 5-10 yard fade whether I want to or not. My irons (perhaps because they're game-improvement?) seem to go straight or draw slightly when I'm hitting well. The only club I can yet control the shape with is my 3hybrid, but that's not 100% reliable.

I used to fade, then I got a Ping driver, now I'm straight. Same with the 3 wood. I draw my irons and my putts go left.

I usually prefer to play a slight draw just because it is what I find easiest to do.

I usually play a draw, because I get a lot more distance out of it. There's the occasional unwanted fade, but I get more than my share of ugly duck-hooks. I can't avoid the left side of a golf course to save my life. I can attempt to deliberately hit a fade to get around a tree or something, but the only club I can reliably do it with is the 3 wood.

I'm normally a straight and long hitter, sometimes it dies right. I like fades because they hit and stay close to the target at which I'm aiming.

Speaking of targets, on long shots I always pick two: one in the distance for line, and one on the ground where I want the ball to land. On shorter shots, I always choose a target on the ground. Even when I can't see the landing area, I picture a spot. When I started being more target-oriented and less distance-oriented, my handicap started to fall...and it still is!

I could be wrong here but my instructor told me (for a right hander) a slight draw on every shot is an indication of a well struck shot. It means your coming through the ball correctly and the left hand spin on the ball comes natural.

That may be where you currently are and what he's working towards with you, but no, in general, I think you'll not get much agreement with that. Tiger's favorite shot right now is a fade, Boo Weekly plays a fade, etc.

I knew I was probably wrong and coming from a 2 handicapper I won't disagree.

Everything except my driver is fairly straight, with maybe a slight fade bias. My driver, is another story entirely. I rarely go left (I'm a righty) and sometime go straight, but normally have some amount of fade on it, with an occasional starts right and goes further right straight into jail disaster shot.

from tee my most used shot is the draw and on the approach shots I use fade more.

Fade definitely. It lands much softer for me and is easier to control. I used to hit a draw and I had a few per round that would be terrible worm burner hooks. After reading Hogans Five Lessons Book and knowing he was going through similar things that I was at the time, I employed a much weaker grip and am playing the best golf of my life.

Ive been a fader all my life. However I spent this year retooling my swing into a draw and definently love the new swing. All my life id picture and imagine shots as draws, however I always hit fades. Now I picture a shot and can hit it.

Ideally I like to hit whatever shot is called for to navigate through a hole.

When simply blasting away, I have a natural draw.
