I see Kaymer is doing his traditional best to miss the cut. +3 putting on 11. No better than par there as he runs it eight feet by.

We're having a discussion at the office (while watching the live feed) about the bird noises we're hearing. One of the guys thought they sounded fake and a bit too apparent. We took to Google it and read that it might be a recording. An avid bird watcher says the sounds we hear are from birds that are not indigenous to the area.

Has anybody else heard this? I found it funny.

Are those turtles I keep seeing on the edge of the ponds?

Saw a couple on 11 when John Huh was there and now at 15 while John Huh is there.  Perhaps they are following John Huh?

They're staying away from Craig "The Walrus" Stadler, that's for sure.

(I assume the "no double post" rule is not in effect in this thread today??)

One of the announcers on the 15/16 feed said that MAJ "ceases to amaze me."

I noticed the bird noises too. It seems ridiculously loud and apparent everywhere on the course.

Probably fake.

Yesterday on "On The Range" they were talking about a story of MAJ walking by players on the practice range with 2 glasses, a bottle of wine and a cigar hanging out of his mouth. Truly, the most interesting man in the world.

I don't know ... there was a situation several years ago where another TV station got "busted" for doing exactly that.  (My favorite stand up comedian, Brian Regan, does a funny bit on the topic but I can't find it online anywhere)

Of all places, I would think Augusta would make sure that they used the correct bird sounds, so I suspect that they are real.  Maybe they just have mics in the trees??

EDIT:  Found it ...

You can now watch Amen Corner, holes 15 and 16, and featured group 1 (McDowell, Fowler, Walker) all online. I've got them all streaming.

    • Day 566, May 21, 2024 Six-iron swings in the back yard. Felt good. It's hot here, though.
    • Yep. It’s easy to get distracted during the day and hardly drink any water. Our bodies do not have a good systems to warn us early enough. Some tips I like. Drink 16+ ounces of water when you wake up. The body can lose 1-2 lbs of water weight overnight. You are already in the red. If you know you are going to work out, or even walking 9 holes of golf. Drink water before hand and during the exertion. I was curious once, I did a 40 ish minute workout and I lost about 5 lbs of water weight. That is 80 ounces of water I need to replenish. Now I try to drink 24-36 ounces beforehand.  Aim for half an ounce of fluid, per pound of bodyweight, per day. Note, this is baseline not taking into account exercise or strenuous activity. Also, if you eat non processed foods, you can get a good amount through diet. If you eat processed foods, you need to drink more during the day.
    • Anyone in the group play tennis and interested in playing some tennis this weekend while we are away on recreation?  @StuM I messaged you about hotel accommodations please let me know what you can do.
    • That's kind of what I thought.  The ap maybe fine, but Shotscope is so inexpensive and works really well. I'm surprised more golfers don't use it.
    • Me too. I tend to drink no less than 64 oz in the winter time. In the summer at least twice that.  I'm prone to cramping and cramping sucks. So, I drink plenty of water. BTW - I've become increasingly prone to cramping as I've aged. Aging sucks also.    Huh?  I'd love to know where you got this information. Did you ask your dog?  I'm not sure if I like or dislike the taste of water. It's water. It's one of the things that makes life on Earth possible.
