Does this person have a putting green floor in their bedroom and 9 dozen Pro V1's casually lying underneath a Scotty Cameron putter and two Odyssey's? I would just like to say that I wish my bedroom was that well furnished!

I think the ball is fake.  Well not fake, but not a regulation golf ball.  Probably a foam practice ball or something.

No, I think the ball that comes through the window and is traveling through the air is computer generated and then they cut in a real ball of some kind that lands and spins back into the hole.

Yeah I have some of those "Almost Golf Balls" and that's what that looks like. Plus there still appears to be glass in the window pane to the left. :-D

Ok, not sure if having multiple videos is supposed to be proof that it couldn't be faked or what. I'm not saying every clip there is fake either.

It's not "fake" per se, it's just that he's using those Almost Real golf balls or something similar. I have those and they do tend to spin back a lot more than regular golf balls, which is why I never use them for any sort of chipping (you hit a chip that's supposed to check then run out and will see it bounce up and backwards slightly before rolling a meager couple of feet). I would say it doesn't make it any less real though, but I would also say that I be the took many takes to hit those shots.

Well, I respectfully disagree. It's a hard shot, but not impossible and we never saw how many takes it took. You shoot a Vine video, it has to go through the app although I'm sure it can be gamed, but why?

Why? Well, why not? Video editing and manipulation isn't all that hard. Also, I could be wrong, but some of the shots the ball just looks "not real" as in computer generated. Of course that could very well be due to the fact he's using a foam ball. Either way, I've always been skeptical of internet videos of "fantastic shots" or tricks because they are so easy to fake.

I wasn't completely sure after seeing the original video through the window because I don't know what the floor is made of but after watching the next one I was sure. Landing on the top of the wall with a dead hop (just like an Almost Golf Ball would do).

Further confirmed when the ball went in a Solo cup and didn't even wiggle the cup.

You would think even a foam ball landing in a light plastic cup like that would make it move though.

Well I just dropped an Almost Golf Ball into a Solo cup from 6 inches away. The first time the cup turned over. The next try it wobbled all over the place.

Possible the cup is glued down or the ball is even lighter than that but those are the only plausible explanations, besides video tricks.

    • Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
    • Yep. I think it will start to feel even more athletic when we start on the downswing stuff later.  I know, it's just I want to be younger so I have more time to enjoy the changes. 🙂
    • I need to drop a couple of stone. 🙂 😛    Yep. Yeah, but in the end, it feels more athletic, like you're actually using your legs, yeah? As you know… we use the best available info we have. Like others, I was fooled a little by 2D images for awhile (moving or still). Unlike others, I've learned and grown and moved on since then, while they're still looking at their images (often from lousy camera angles).
