Istarted gaming nxt tours this year and they do seem to make a difference. First their is feel.mostly in chips and pitches into the green. The nxt tours bounce and Check. Pinnacle gold will bounce and release or roll out. I haven't played the premium balls enough to see if can get back spin or what their feel is. 47 is just to much for me to spend. I spend 29 on the nxt tours @Wally world or target. Other balls that have the check up ability are the noodle long and soft, and the srixon soft feel. I did not seem to get that feel with the e6 that I tried last year. I no longer go ball hunting when and only play the nxt tours. This does seem too help.

I'm a high handicapper. Personally I don't know whether a ball has much influence on my game or not. I've played Slazenger Raw Distance (picked them up cheap years ago before I quit playing for a while) and they seem ok... not long but then again I'm not a long hitter. I picked up some Orlimars the other week and don't notice any difference between the 2 balls.

I honestly don't know whether the balls help bite on the green or not because I'm normally not in a position to actually see the ball land on the green to see if I have backspin or not. I highly doubt that I do.

I've read good things about the brands and balls below and think I might try to find one of them in a 2 dozen for the price of $20 or so... or 3 balls golf or rock bottom golf have some on sale... buy 3 get 1 free at rock bottom golf I think... and Golf Galaxy has some on sale too I think.

Bridgestone

B330's

Srixon

Z-Star

Wilson

I'm typically in the mid 90's. I have been using the Slazenger's as well (I hit the xtreme straighter than I do the straight)... 4 dozen for $35 at Dick's, great price.

Good price. I think my Snake Eye's are roughly the same, just a Golfsmith brand rather than Dick's.

They spin just as well with pitch shots and most approach shots on the greens I play. I can't get enough spin off of a chip to make that much of a difference to justify spending $5 per ball, yet.

Golfsmith has SnakeEyes 2 for $16. I don't play them, but for those who do, that sounds like a good price. check out Golfsmith.com

There is something serious going wrong here.

I see lots off people say i tried a better ball but it did not help me.

You need to ask yourself the question what will be a good ball for your game.

A better players (softer) ball is not always the best option.

I play Wilson FG Tours or Taylormade TP5. Because i want stop control, i'm not hitting huge backspin and i don't want to, but if i hit a 7I to a green i will know that it will end up within 5 feet of it's pitch mark.

I also like the check on my chips.

Recently switched to titleist NXT-S and have noticed it's a much longer ball than the Zstars I was playing before and still has good enough spin on the approaches from close and long, almost holed a wedge from115 the other week and it only rolled 2' from the pitch so I don't really need anything more than that.
