Keeps changing, but now I'm hooking my irons. Lucky my wedges can help me get out of the mess my irons get me into.

Swinging to fast and or hard. When I slow it down and swing smooth and through the ball instead of trying to "hit" the ball its like a different player took the shot.  I know when I commit this offense when I pull my head up and top the crap out of the ball.

inaccuracy with approach shots - everything from wedges to 3 wood.    I make good contact most of the time - I'm very satisfied with my ballstriking and contact.

Its just my accuracy is awful - I could be 15 yards right or left of the green with the long irons or leaving a 50 ft pin high putt with a pitching wedge.

Just can't seem to aim my approach shots well at all ...

At least you're hitting the greens.

I addressed that issue in my book, which was one of most problematic flaws that cost me strokes.  For me, that stemmed from a faulty mindset.  You get it in your head that you need to pound your drive or attack a dangerous pin to optimize your chance for birdie, so you get cute and you end up making bogey or playing from the bushes.  I think LSW talked about that, although I haven't read the book because I'm down to 3-4 rounds a year.

Mindset is spot on. I get into the I have to crush it thought pattern and I do crush it a whole 20 yards. It's mostly when I play with certain people who I am very competitive with. Otherwise that desire to crush it doesn't appear that often and when it does its short lived. I will have to check out your book.

I would say first, Driver.  Then Driver and lastly Driver.  The frustrating thing is I have been working on this all year with my instructor on Evolvr.

I know people that can take care of your driver problem.  It will never be seen again.

:-) Thanks @Gary L .  That may help!  I need to learn to play "easy golf".  You know anyone who could help me, real or fictional?

I need to learn to play "easy golf".

Easy is my middle name !    Ernie is the Big Easy, I'm the Medium Easy !    I'm a total believer in the easy swing ... as I'm getting better, I'm becoming longer due to better ball striking,  but with my easy swing I get it out there 250-260 now consistently and accurately.   I hit 7 of 7 fairways with the driver on the front 9 last time out at Berkshire Valley after work.     If I overswing a hook is just waiting to rear its ugly head - I'm talking EVERY single time.     To me, my easy swing is about 75% of my maximum swing - it's not a slow swing, but a controlled swing.  It's 100% about maintaining a SMOOTH tempo.    I realize if a person is a young competitive golfer, they may need to swing hard to maximize their length and be competitive, but so much more can go wrong and break down when a person swings near their limit.     For the average golfer who doesn't have a lot of practice time, the easy swing results in far more enjoyable golf and keeps the ball in play.

As you're taking Evolvr lessons, I'm not going to offer anything other than whats become the foundation of my driver swing and has helped me immensely this year ... I keep the clubhead on the backswing "low and slow" - really helps with extension and adds a feeling of coiling the body.    Somehow, it also seems to help me get in position for a better weight shift on the downswing (everyone says my swing looks way better too now that I've incorporated this)...

Thanks @inthehole .  The "Easy Golf" reference was actually to @Gary L 's book Skull Shot .  But I agree with your points.

There is a guy . . . Jack something.  Lives in Reno, I think.  He knows all about that stuff.  Pretty handy with a gun, too.

I'm not sure what my biggest weakness is:

My average score is 101

Diving Accuracy of 42%

G.I.R - 19%

Putts per round: 40

I do struggle with a slice so I do have 3-4 lost balls a round which never helps!

Any help would be appreciated, as I'm not sure what to work on!

I score pretty well most days usually in the (78 to 83 range).  However, I would have to say before I can consistently score better I would have to find some more distance with my long, and middle clubs, which won't happen at this stage of my life.  Although more accurate, I am shorter than most golfers with my driver up to my 5i. Longer par 3s & 4s are a hassle for me to reach in regulation. I just do the best I can with the tools I got.

Driver. I am a recovering sliceaholic. But over the last few weeks since discovering this site and LSW I am on the road to recovery!
