Hi all,

I'm getting back into golf and really enjoy trying to improve.  Started playing again in March 2014.

In the early 90s I was playing twice a month, late 90s I averaged about 4 times a year.

In 2003 I was diagnosed with leukemia and didn't play at all for 11 years during that struggle.  I had some heavy treatments, including chemo and finally as a last resort, a bone marrow transplant.  Well, it worked and I'm in full remission and back at my job as an accountant.

I've started taking lessons and my instructor has been mostly working on holding my posture (I was falling foward in my take away), and my take away (I've been letting my hands come to far forward away from my body).  These changes are really helping.  I won't be sharing my swing for a while as I want to focus on what the instructor has me working on and not clutter my mind with too many swing thoughts.

I think my biggest issue, now that I've made some improvements on my swing, is distance.  I've lost both strength and flexibility during my health issues.  I'm 5'10" and I dropped from 175 lbs to 132 during all that treatment.  Many par 4s play as par 5s for me.

I'm always looking forward to my next round.  Will be playing sometime next week.

Cheers,

Frank

Welcome Frank,

Congratulations on your remission.

Jump right in, there is alot going on, plenty of things to post about, Ryder Cup comes to mind.

Plenty of great instruction here if you feel the need, just don't take any of my advice, I have and it doesn't help.lol
