I played both TPC Las Vegas and A.P mountain course lasy week and without a doubt Angel Parks rolled extremely faster. Probably some of the fastest I've played in awhile. No joke

Hate, Hate , Hate Badlands...kicks my ass every time. Great course to bet money if you know the course vs a first timer.

National isn't in the best shape but very close to the strip and a course with a lot of history. Tiger Woods won his 1st PGA tournament ever there.

Bali Hai is nice, but for 200 more Shadow Creek blows every course out of the water in my opinion. Truly have to see it to believe it. Insane its in the middle of North Las Vegas

Hmm.. I had not heard of National. Looks like it is ~3.5 miles from strip. Very close and reasonable price. Might have to look at that.

Yeah, not resort-y or anything, but not bad at all.  I played there once and enjoyed it.

Random fact:  If you're a fan of the movie Casino, pay attention as you're going down the 1st fairway and coming up the 18th fairway, the first house between them is Deniros house in that movie.  Most recognizable from the V shaped pool.  Here's a scene where they land an airplane on the 1st fairway:

The real events that the movie is based on happened across the street at Las Vegas Country Club. And the plane ended up in a lake.

Desert Pines is a Pete Dye track - liked it a lot, reasonably priced & its within cab ride from the strip (hosted one of the first BIg Break series on TGC)

I'll have to add that to the list as well. Thanks.

Keep with the feedback, I'll be in Vegas in late May, early June and will be looking for places to play as well.  Will be good to hear your continued feedback.

Has anyone gone up and played either Wolf Creek or Coyote Springs in Mesquite?  Is it worth the drive to go play either  of those courses?

It's definitely worth the drive to play either.

There are also some great courses just up the interstate in St George.

Coyote Springs is in the middle of no where, its just you and the course. really crazy undulating greens. Well worth the drive. Have not had the chance to play wolf creek. It is very high on the list to play.

If you know any locals its so much cheaper compared to tourist rate.

Wolf Creek is definitely worth the trip.

As for Coyote Springs, stay away !!!  The last time I played - about a year ago - the greens were in terrible conditions.  Burned out greens, patches of dirt (no grass), etc.

Unless they managed to do a better job with the greens and fairways, I would NOT play Coyote Springs.

Unfortunately I do not know anyone in Vegas. I get in on May 30th with the family and leave on the following Sunday. I'll probably try and play most mornings with my Dad and my fiancé until she has to leave earlier in the week.

Bummer, maybe paying for my golf is cheaper if I sneak your threesome on at the local rate since I live here :) . Seriously though, if you drive a rental not a taxi and pay cash for your green fees they hardly ever check. I've literally paid almost 40-100 less on some courses just for being a resident on golfnow or calling the course. It's kind of messed up how they screw the tourist that come to play. With that said, I promise us locals get no special discount for Shadow Creek :( we gotta pay 500 bones like everyone else.

Here's a link of courses.  - http://www.utah.com/golf/courses/st_george_courses.htm

I liked Coral Canyon, Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club, Sunbrook Golf Course.

Also in Mesquite, Palmer designed Oasis which is very good.
