I was wondering how they are. I saw at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational a lot of players using it and Pornanong Phatlum gift me one the day I was score keeping her group.

I think that if it is hard to get them in the US in Mexico would be impossible.

The vast majority of the women golfers who play Volvik play the orange one. Both the Vista iV and Vista iS come in orange. The Vista iS spins more but doesn't go as far off the tee. Because it spins more, it can also be less accurate due to more side spin (all spin isn't good). I wasn't as accurate with the Vista iS. The Vista iV had plenty of spin into the greens for me. Less spin on chips. I like the green which only comes with the Vista iV. You can get Volvik at Edwin Watts or lots of places online.

You may like the Vista iV. I compare it favorably to the Pro V1x. For whatever reason, the Titleist doesn't grab me. I love the green color of the Vista iV. The cover feels firm, so it is really durable, but I was surprised on how the ball bites the green. Consistently stops within a few feet. But I don't get the nasty overspin. I like the feel on chips. The only drawback is that on some chips and pitches I like to throw the ball at the pin with a lot of spin and get it to really bite. Don't know if the Vista iV will do that. Need some more testing on that.

Nice! Thank you! Will definitely have to try this Volvik balls. Let me do a quick search at Edwin Watts Golf online store.

I am rethinking my use of the Volvik Vista iV. I just don't get the bite on those half wedge shots. I think I'm going the try the Volvik Vista iS which has more spin. Unfortunately only in yellow and orange. I have some White Color S3's which spin. Rather play a colored ball though.

I don't know why but I sent for them. I honestly think I had a moment of lack of clarity. I have a gazillion golf balls and pretty much only play Prov's. I guess hearing about how good they were had me bamboozled. Here's a pic to prove my stupidity...

I played the Volvik White Color this weekend. Not real impressed with it. The ball felt hard with the driver. Distance was very good. The durability was great. However, the ball didn't check as well on full approach shots. Some shorter pitches and chips also ran farther than I like. I prefer to throw a pitch at the pin and have it bite. Bottom line is I didn't hate them but I like other balls better. I'll keep playing them on water holes, but won't get upset if they are lost.

On this course, about half the holes have a real danger of losing the ball off the tee for even slightly mishit shots, so having only two balls, I played a Maxfli U6 on the "water holes". The Maxfli's were like new used balls. Interestingly, I much preferred the Maxfli U6 over the Volvik White Color. The Maxfli would check up and dance on the green. the Volvik always rolled forward.

Next week, I'll play my Volvik Vista iV (green) and Bridgestone B330 RXS on the water holes. I know I already like the RXS when chipping and putting. I've chipped and putted with B330 RX and B330 RXS and prefer the RXS. I've hit the RX on the course and think they are a little too firm. Never hit an RXS (that I remember) on the course.

What'd you think of the video?

I didn't think too much of the video. Not sure if their promotional strategy was the best, I would have went with the advertising, I did appreciate the free balls though.

I did not see it. I get so much crap in my inbox that all the golf stuff gets filtered to a special folder, and they send stuff too often.

Eh, debating it.  Just not sure I want to give them my CC number, haha.

So you guys paid $3 for two "free" golf balls? What a deal!

That was what I thought later. 3 bux for 2 balls and to be put on a mailing list. I lost the first ball in the drink after I think 3 shots. The second one has gone about four rounds so far. I don't really know why I keep playing it. It doesn't check up very well but it is not horrible. I guess I am just waiting to lose it.

    • Couple things to update First on the clubs/ball. I switched golf balls to the Left Dash ProV1x. It seems like a great fit for me. I always need lower spin off the tee, it's about a half club longer into greens, and still gives me enough spin with chips and pitches to hit whatever shot I need. The durability is insane too, played 35 holes with one over my last two rounds and it still looked brand new until I lost it. Hybrid is no longer. Couldn’t quite get a consistent strike and the random snap hook left was always lurking as soon as the strike drifted out towards the toe. I know it was me not the club but I couldn’t stand the lefts anymore. Titliest fitting guy came to our club a few days ago and I had been curious about the T200 3iron. I hit a few with it and the stock HZRDUS graphite shaft, it wasn’t bad at all but I could definitely tell when I mishit it. Then the fitter had me try the U505 3iron. When he asked if I was open to trying it I said something like “Isn’t that the game improvement one?” and he said “Just trust me and hit a few with it”. Within 5 swings I was sold. Suddenly it didn’t look as big and chunky when I started hitting rocket after rocket. It did every single thing I want a 3 iron to do. It flies very high, forgiving, can hit it off the tee and ground, can flight it low when needed, and best of all, it doesn’t go left. He had me try to snap hook one left and it resulted in a nice tight draw, nowhere close to a hook. Tried it with the stock shaft and their upgraded one, ended up hitting it the best with the Graphite Design Tour AD IZ-95. Ended up getting a great deal on a used one that arrived yesterday so going to go measure my numbers with it today at the range. I expect to be using this a lot for 2nd shots into par 5s, being that 230-250 club. Hit some on the Mevo+ yesterday and the distance is exactly what I needed.     From a playing perspective, been playing pretty solid so far this season, driving and putting have been solid overall, approach shots have been good for the most part and short game wasn't great to start the year but it's been getting better lately with some more dedicated practice. Compared to scratch over 7 rounds:
    • so with the driver. Feel more arm  width at A4. keep an in the eye on the ball. The first move from the top is lowering the hands down. Don’t mix that up with looking up at the target as the club comes down from A4 with the body. Feel like I get width with the arms from the chest in the Downswing.

    • Went back and reviewed my rounds this year at my home course to fill out the spreadsheet. Realized I have made at least par on each hole but two that I have bogied. At my skill level, it gives me a new confidence that I can play each hole decently well and strong together a lower score. Great mental boost.
    • I'm at 330 I think. I have a spreadsheet with all of them in it. It helps having lived in two countries. 159 in the US and 136 in the UK. Then a handful in Europe and a few in other countries (Canada, Australia, Mexico).
