I checked into this because of the "Free Volviks". It's not totally free, and they want your CC number for shipping. It's probably worth the shipping cost for the stuff, but as with anyone who wants your CC#,  caveat emptor. I have traded emails with Humphries in the past, and met him a couple of times when in Texas. He seems to know his stuff. He's the one who explained swinging on plane to me where I could understand it.

Thanks for the updates, @dennyjones and @Patch .

I did not apply for the offer, just thought I'd throw it up for members.

I'm not  fan of coloured golf balls but Volvic makes a really nice orange.

The orange ball almost "glows in the dark"

I found one this summer and was amazed it appeared so bright.

It actually casts a reflection.

I have a couple of orange and yellow but I like the green. They do fly a little higher than most balls I hit. They feel firmer but really spin on the greens. Covers don't chew up either. I've never tried the S3. I've tried the Vista iV and Vista iS.

I haven't tried the s3, but I am pretty happy with both of the Vista series. The iV gets really good distance.

I got a confirmation in my email a couple of days ago. I'm off this week from work and want to play some new balls. I doubt I would switch because I really do like the colored balls.

I don't know why but I sent for them. I honestly think I had a moment of lack of clarity. I have a gazillion golf balls and pretty much only play Prov's. I guess hearing about how good they were had me bamboozled. Here's a pic to prove my stupidity...

I did some chipping with them tonight. They actually felt pretty good. Cover isn't real soft though. We'll see how they spin this weekend.

I played the Volvik White Color this weekend. Not real impressed with it. The ball felt hard with the driver. Distance was very good. The durability was great. However, the ball didn't check as well on full approach shots. Some shorter pitches and chips also ran farther than I like. I prefer to throw a pitch at the pin and have it bite. Bottom line is I didn't hate them but I like other balls better. I'll keep playing them on water holes, but won't get upset if they are lost. On this course, about half the holes have a real danger of losing the ball off the tee for even slightly mishit shots, so having only two balls, I played a Maxfli U6 on the "water holes". The Maxfli's were like new used balls. Interestingly, I much preferred the Maxfli U6 over the Volvik White Color. The Maxfli would check up and dance on the green. the Volvik always rolled forward. Next week, I'll play my Volvik Vista iV (green) and Bridgestone B330 RXS on the water holes. I know I already like the RXS when chipping and putting. I've chipped and putted with B330 RX and B330 RXS and prefer the RXS. I've hit the RX on the course and think they are a little too firm. Never hit an RXS (that I remember) on the course.

    • Day 37, June 10.  Today was primarily WFH, so I had several practice sessions (indoors, off a mat, into the net).  At least one each of U, 9, and 6-iron full swings with the usual priority.   I also tried a few times a putting type stroke with my 4H, as something I should probably learn how to hit (and what it does), but the mechanical shot at home off a mat doesn't tell me much of what it's doing.  That's something I should probably try on a real green, not during a round until I've tried it.
    • Day 10 (10 Jun 26) - Played in the midweek shootout at my home course - on aerated and sanded greens - day of trying to figure tempo to get the best roll on the greens.  Approach game was decently solid as was shots off the tee.
    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
