Played this muni, Marine Park in Brooklyn yesterday. A quintessential and awesome NY muni experience! Played a bit long for my dinky 225 yard drives but came away smiling ear to ear..😊. Loved it.

Was paired up with two former Syracuse college players and let's just say I was very willingly reduced to being a spectator frequently during the round. I feel lucky to be playing decent golf in far away places and I play with some solid scratch/+ guys back home but man these guys were impressive.

I'm a bit more reflective of what life brings everyday as I get older. Great day!

Wanted to check out things from a different angle.

Continuing to work on different aspects of the swing. Here revisiting much more neutral left hand grip, arms connection, width, stability, quick transition (feel is literally bouncing off P4 into pull arms down as hard as I can) and of course, a balanced finish. I think the pelvis piece is still nowhere it needs to be but it will come. It feels like there has been progress this year.

Consistent with your other videos from this summer, the big thing that jumps out to me is that your down swing is the whole right side of your body driving towards the ball. Even when you get your right hip back counter drill style, first move from the top is posted left leg spin the right hip and right should at the ball, get OTT. Your finish is also kind of a giveaway :-D

Thanks for the note, but is there a typo here? Not sure I followed.

I meant like your hips slide forward a touch and your left hip comes back away from the ball a little. But then your left hip stays in the ~same place and your whole right side kinda swings around your front hip. Like a door and the left hip is the hinge! And you can see the results as you step basically at the ball with your whole right side momentum carrying you that direction!

Gotcha. Not bad. Yeah, the whole trail unit moves a bit outside-in through impact. I don't think the sequencing is all that bad but I guess I have a lot of structural 'equity' in the wrong places built over a lifetime of other sports and compensations from a couple of significant distal injuries. Like weight too much in the heels which Erik has been trying to get me to fix to help the pelvis rotation.

I'm about 10% closer than I was last year. The heel-weight is a tough piece for me but a matter of conditioning my trail ankle (I shattered it in 2020 and has maybe 50-60% flexion/extension range left) with a bit more intent. Thanks.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
    • I have access to far more data (including surveys and polls) than you do with your anecdotes. I mean this as plainly and literally as possible: you’ve demonstrated that you do not. They would, one way or the other.
