No harm intended. Right, so some people are allergic to different food types including alcohol, and that was what I was asking if this is what you thought. Again sorry if you took it the wrong way. . .

You're not getting it. I wasn't offended by what you said and I'm 100% confident that steven wasn't either, and I also know for 100% that you didn't do it On purpose. All I'm saying is that you have to be careful to not attribute things to people that didn't say them.[/quote] You also have to be careful of how you respond to people. If you would have left out the "come on", it probably would have went quite a bit differently.

Perhaps, but there is a difference between manners and false attribution.

Hold on, some of you guys are saying he doesn't look healthy now? Did he look healthy before???

Good question. You are always going to either be too fat, or too skinny, by "other people's" view. Nobody is perfect and you're fooling yourself if you think Dufner is less healthy by watching his diet and working out.

Exactly.  When someone says "So your assertion is . . . " and they do not follow that with EXACTLY what the other person said then they are putting words in their mouth and creating a false straw man.  Whether or not that is their intent.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

Thank you. This is all I was trying to point out.

Good theory, I wouldn't have put these two things together without your original assertion.

Anyways, what I knew about gluten was sketchy and this made me read up on gluten as I've been purposely ignorant, just avoided learning about it. I now know about the relationship between gluten and inflammation and other things, so this thread has helped me learn a thing or two.

Good research! I'm still impressed by your thinking about anything golf related!

So your assertion is that based upon what he took out of his diet, he might get injured less?

I re-assert that your assertion makes a lot of sense to me. I had just gotten over a bout of food allergies, and something clicked when I read your post. When I was consuming things to which I was allergic, bad things happened to me. So, I can relate to this. . .

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
