Tiger with nine feet for birdie.

Tiger looks like he could go on a charge. It looks like he's playing really well this morning. I'm just hoping that he can string something together and leave himself well placed if he manages to go really low on Saturday.

You jinxed him. He just bogeyed.

Tiger with duffed chip on 6 which leads to bogey.

Can't really call it a duff when he missed his landing point by three feet. Just a difficult shot. Anyway, he could easily be four under by now. Putter is the only thing not quite clicking.

You don't know that it was duffed.  Maybe he had to land it in a very tiny area and he missed by two feet.  (Basically what @jbishop15 just said)

All evidence so far yesterday and today points towards his short game being solid.

****ing Spieth.

Leader yesterday. Leader for today's rounds too (-3 for day thus far, with Koepka/Jaidee). We are watching another major rout in its early stages? Could be.

And you don't know it wasn't.

And you don't know it wasn't.

They just showed the shot on ESPN. It was a downhill chip that he had to land on the fringe and he missed it by a few feet. Considering that every chip but that one (plus the next chip in which he hit it to three feet) has been A-level, means that he probably didnt duff it.

    • I had the D-9's a while back, thought the stock Wilson grips were rubbish.  I put Pure grips on them. Pure is now out of business but available on Golfworks.  Currently some colors in stock as of today. PURE Wrap Golf Grips - The GolfWorks PURE Golf's tackiest grip, the Wrap features a perforated wrap design and is ideal for golfers that prefer a slightly softer, more muted feel at impact.
    • If he had to hit over the bunker, I'm guessing he was further from the hole, although "in front of" implies the opposite.  If that's right, that may have been the right spot for penalty relief, a single PS.
    • Day 52. Trying to work on hard pan lie pitching in the rain in the yard.
    • Did you look up any Rules before posting here? What did you learn or find? You don't get to drop (or place) closer to the hole. 16.1(c) deals with relief for Abnormal Course Conditions in bunkers. You're granted free relief for: Since you say the bunker was basically entirely full of water, you likely wouldn't get complete relief, so for free (no penalty strokes), you are entitled to "maximum available" relief. If there's a spot in the back of the bunker away from the hole where the water is the shallowest, then you can drop there. If you don't like any of those options, you can take a penalty stroke and drop out of the bunker, behind it: You seem to have played from a wrong place (nearer to the hole) and thus likely should be penalized two strokes. It doesn't sound like a serious breach, at least.
