  1. 1. If you could buy an Edel putter or three Edel wedges, which? Answer why in comments below.

    • Putter
      2
    • Wedges
      3

For the TST'ers who have both:

Would you buy a series of the wedges (say 3) or the putter if you could buy one now?

I was thinking that the wedges should probably be the first and then the putter later.

I took the plunge and did both on my last visit to the states.. I would do the putter first if I had to do it all over again, but not for any scientific reason, I think it's just a preference.

I voted putter. You'll have it longer (forever).

I voted wedges. Practicing with my wedges is probably my favorite thing to do for practice and, depending on what changes you make compared to your current set up, you might be able to do new fun things with them you couldn't do before (I'm thinking this based on worn-out grooves to new ones and a grind that suits you for versatile shots). Putting is boring, haha (not really, but you get my drift).

Edit: Like a horse's bum, I misread the conceit of the post. I don't have Edel products, but I was expressing my general preferences for new wedges over a new putter.

Depends on your issues... is it with the putter or the wedges?

But generally, if you have a consistent setup and stroke, putter, and then wedge.

Voted "putter" in general -- but get into the putting setup and grip you want that is consistent and have someone look at it with a SAM -- then get fitted.

I've bagged my Edel Putter for 6 years - saved me a ton of money by not buying putters.

I have a really good short game and I'm not a bad putter.  So it's a toss-up for me.  Maybe get fitted for both and buy one early in the season and the other later in the season.

plus the guy I will go to the fitting is a pro at Congressional, so that won't be a poor place to hang out for a few hours.
