IM new here and not no tiger woods I would rate myself as a intermediate beginner. Yesterday I was out playing golf and before we started I was at the driving range with my driver and after a couple hits I felt a sharp pain in my lower right arm elbow area and today my whole lower arm is black and blue swollen. Have no clue what has happened. And very frustrated with my drives, I cant seem to be constant with hitting the ball straight and was wondering if I can get some advice with my driver and clubs and what could have happened to my right arm area.

Thanks,

Well, I'm no doctor but you could have a wide range of issues, including a broken forearm.  See somebody if pain and swelling persist.

Sharp pain followed by swelling and black and blue = bad. Get to an urgent care clinic.

Post a video. There's lots of doctors on this site. Maybe @Ferguson can fix you up.

Thanks,

Go see a doctor, preferably an orthopaedist.  In the meanwhile; Ice it then put a compression wrap (i.e. Ace bandage) around it.  The acronym RICE, rest, ice, compression, elevation, helps relieve the swelling.  We can't speculate on what the injury is, but a good doctor will be able to tell.

Could be golfers elbow, i had this from gripping too hard. Gave me pain from just below the elbow joint right down to my hand and middle fingers. Definatley see a doctor as any sort of tendon/ligament damage isnt nice

Thank you all for the Drs advice but what about my swing?

It looks pretty good. :-P Start a My Swing thread and post some video. No one can really help without actually seeing what your doing in your swing now.

@rayg1022 Sorry I left you hanging, I was on my phone when I posted so I couldn't really add more pointers and links. I was assuming someone else would hop in and fill in the blanks, unfortunately it looks like nobody did. Check out this thread: http://thesandtrap.com/t/38240/my-swing-video-threads-rules-please-read Nobody can really give any worthwhile advice without seeing your swing so I suggest you take some video. Be sure to read all the instructions carefully, if you don't get the correct angles when filming, swing analysis can be difficult. Once you have some decent video up I'm sure we can help you with your swing. Get that arm checked though, it sounds nasty.

Well update on the arm is I have torn bicep. Need to let it heel for 3 weeks on pain meds and ice. The bruising is the internal bleeding flowing were it can.

Last year, after playing very little for the previous 2 years, I played 6 out of 7 days straight.  I got a little bit of what felt like tendinitis in my right forearm, so I got one of those velcro wraps to wear.  After the first round wearing the wrap, my whole forearm arm turned black and blue like I'd been worked over with a hammer.  I think it had something to with the wrap, although I know it wasn't too tight because it even slipped down to my wrist on a couple of swings, but I'd never had anything like that bruising before.  Nor has it recurred.  Don't have any idea what really caused it, but it faded in about a week, just like any bruise would, and never really hurt that much, just a sort of dull ache that I didn't even notice unless it thought about it.  The tendinitis gradually healed too after I just quit playing for a couple of weeks to let the arm rest.

    • Day 34 (14 Dec 25) - Got outside for a few moments to work on bump and runs with the 4h (again using the exaggerated weight shift reminder of the left (lead) heel). Finding that it helps keep the downswing arc extended.

    • I am currently playing a Cobra Ltdx LS 9 degree driver and Cobra Ltdx LS FW3. Both with Tensei White stock stiff shafts and original weights of 12g (heel) and 3g (toe). My miss is usually a pull fade or sometimes a slice, swing is out to in. Driver swing speed about 112 mph. Grips are stock regular. Intended change: Driver: Switching to Tensei White x-flex one inch shorter which I suppose would be 44,5? Changing heel weight to 18g. Changing grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Change hosel setting to standard draw. FW3: Changing heel weight to 16g (apparently not available in FW weights, but supposed to be something called "internal weight" a club builder can add which fits between the weight and the screw?). Change grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Changing hosel setting to standard +1. The goal is to 1) get better grip since I tend so lose grip in warm and moist conditions with the current grips and 2) mitigate the misses to start more straight with less side spin. Also considering adding the Cobra Ltdx LS FW5 instead of my old Taylormade R9 and getting 14g heel and 6g toe weights with the same grip as the others and hosel setting standard +1.   All of the above is based on conversations with ChatGPT and, as everyone knows, it can come up with pretty much whatever but I spent a few hours asking about different perspectives etc and this was the recommendation. So, my question is basically, does it make any sense?   Thanks.
