It's fair to say Crossfield has become a bona fide (mini) celebrity in the golf world. I think it's also fair to say he knows so too.

In general I find his SOLO video's entertaining, but with other people he comes across as a bit of an arse to me.

He also seems to take great delight in being a contrarian and debunker. That wouldnt be a bad thing if he wasnt so blunt and abrasive and cocky about it.

What bugs me most is how arrogant and insulting he is on social media. Anyone who dares offer a different opinion to his usually gets shot down and mocked. He is unprofessional and without class which is a real shame.

Also this whole 'original content', 'I was first to say this/that' etc. stuff is not only b.s. but it smacks of jealousy and childishness.

I only watch his reviews and course vlogs. I like those. I don't bother with social media much at all so I wouldn't know about his attitude on those. I will say, it's not unheard of for people to develop some attitude and cockiness when they get popular so I wouldn't be surprised if he has.

Yeah, he is 'interesting'. But he is Ari Gold kind of arrogant - just doesn't mask it. And the hash tag stuff is actually ok with me. It's sort of a fun secret language of 'insiders'. Not tired of it yet. But I never want to throw the baby out with the bath water. He has good/legit info that is useful. Don't care if his claims of originality are genuine or not.

I'm the biggest Mark Crossfield booster in the world, and even I think he's taken a bit of an unfortunate turn towards the obnoxious that's coincided with his getting a recurring feature on GolfDigest.com, sponsored by Puma, and co-host duties on some British show with Cara Robinson et al. I still like him, but there's been a shift in how his channels have run since around The Masters, with less instruction and reviews, and more screwing around. Which was always fun as a result of what he was doing, not being the whole thing. Maybe it's a permanent shift, maybe he'll rebalance. I still like and trust him, I just know I don't check his channel for new updates every single morning with breakfast like I used to.

Well just go and look at his twitter feed now and look how he responds to those who question or disagree with him. Its appauling frankly and he's basically trolling. Has he got mild autism or something. He gleefully criticizes pundits whilst offering no evidence to support his reasoning.

I honestly think he's on a slippery slope. If his offensiveness and ego keeps escalating the way it has been over past year or so he'll soon find he's shot himself in the foot. He's already lost Nike. A few more big names boycott him and suddenly his #originalcontent wont be worth watching, even with his 'hilarious' #personality.

just look at the conversation he's having right now with @stevenjguitar . Steven merely asks him to justify why he thinks people are wrong about Tiger's dipping causing/or not causing him issues and he basically insults him for daring to question him. So defensive and self righteous.

Thanks. Not terrible stuff there though IMO. Mildly rude. Being an ass worked for Brian Manzella.-Maybe Mark is trying the Manzella approach to fame and fortune. He can be the self-proclaimed BEST just like good ol BM too. Then they can have a teach-off followed by a douche-off to see who is the lousiest instructor and the biggest twat.

well i think the "hahaha" and "#commentgold" comments are very condescending, especially to someone who appears to be (or was!) a follower and a fan. What he's trying to achieve by insulting and alienating someone simply asking for justification I dont know.

I hear Mizuno just signed a 100 year contract with him. :-D

He's a golf nerd, and takes on the whole nerd persona. . .

    • The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  OP makes this statement "I now understand that standards are different on the "private course." But I'll take those lessons to the muni, too."  No, the standards are not different.  You, sir, seem to be just a bit hard headed and belligerent, even if you are college professor...which possibly explains a lot.   JMHO
    • Day 32: worked for about 10 minutes on my drill. Filmed it as well for a check in. I think it’s slightly better but still seeing some issues.
    • Day 44 (26 Dec 25)  -  played in the Friday men’s shootout with a twist - used the Toney Penna persimmons and MacGregor blades - had a blast playing these clubs.  They really help in zoning in on making solid ball contact.  Scoring was solid - had several looks at birdie and had a few par saves.  Overall a day of focused course management.
    • Day 2: 2025.12.27 Eighteen holes at Kauri Cliffs. Focusing on trying to keep flex in right leg during backswing.
    • Day 136 12-26 Had a different practice planned today but life happened. Worked on "wide to wide" and still working on remaining flowy. Starting the club head in front of the ball as a drill, is helping with the flow of the swing.
