In that regard, yes.

It's important because he can't play in any amateur events, now. He's no longer an amateur golfer.

I understand that but I was referring to the protocol that most teaching pros go through.

Get him to join here.

So he's got 2 videos on YouTube. His linked website is down, though.

Didn't watch the videos.

Man, now he's gonna be thrilled by the increased Youtube hits (he has very few), but it's really just us (or just me) haha

Haha... I was trying not to advertise... I didn't want to get in trouble.

No worries, he'll never know. Didn't leave any comments. I could have just been some dumbass idiot clicking on odd youtube golf instructional videos that he has no clue about.

Oh, wait....

Reminds me of the movie Arthur Newman Part of the plot is that he fakes being a golf pro. I think if we had a thread for worst movie golf swings, Colin Firth would rank petty high... or low.

As much as I don't care for his swing, he is pretty consistent with it. I have been paired up with him a few times but never thought that his swing was what I would want. I didn't get enough information to warrant knowledge of the golf swing from his website either.

Would you take lessons from Jim Furyk?  I am not trying to defend the guy but I'm not sure you can use his golf swing to measure of his knowledge of the golf swing.   I wouldn't want my swing to look like his but I wouldn't mind having his handicap.

I might but he is no Jim Furyk. He plays at minimum 5 days a week and works on his game very hard. The fact that he posted his swing that shows a some lack of fundamentals makes it tough to believe your needs would be met.

while, his swing isnt smooth like Ernie Els,  if he is consistent with his swing and hitting the ball.... isnt that all that matters in golf.....

in golf you have a variety of swings that , you would not teach people....... jim furyk, kenny perry,

But that doesnt mean they couldnt teach you something......

It is what it is

Ditto on the handicap. It's kind of hard for me to judge if he has 3 of the 5 keys or not, but it looks like Key 1 and Key 2 are pretty much there, maybe 3? I also noticed that he extends his swing through impact (his elbows are together after impact)? IDK.

Human body can do a lot of things with consistent repetition, wrong or right. I have seen quite a few guys with low handicaps because they are doing the same thing on the same track day after day, year after year. It doesn't me they have a good swing. I have seen chili dippers and flippers that play to sub 10 caps because they have learned to manage their game. It doesn't mean it works for someone else. Hell there's a ton of guys out there with low caps that should never teach anyone anything.

My swing doesn't look all that great either, but I agree that his swing looks really bad.

However, that doesn't mean he can't teach the essentials to a student. In fact, the fact that his swing is so awful might attract more people to learn from him, because if he can do it then anyone can do it?

If you know the essentials to the swing, and knew your short comings, would you post your swing exhibiting them to your potential students?
