The girl from Monument, Colorado, has the swing to match the hype surrounding her.

The self-confessed fitness addict has her eyes set on earning her spot on the LPGA Tour alongside the best female golfers in the world.

Despite only just finishing her university degree in communications, the 22-year-old has 85,000 followers on Instagram.

After one day on Twitter, she already has more than 1,100 followers.

Spiranac was also an elite junior gymnast, training 38 hours a week to make the USA’s Olympic team, but decided to focus on golf.

“I absolutely love golf. It totally beats doing back handsprings on a 4-inch (balance) beam and defying death,” she once told The Gazette newspaper in Colorado Springs .

Last week she won the Colorado Women’s Golf Association Match Play Championship at Raccoon Creek Golf Course and is continuing to build up her rankings points to book her spot on the LPGA Tour.

I get it that some female golfers are great to look at, but as a 63 year old golfer I have been paying more attention to how the LPGA pros hit the ball.

If I just want to look at eye candy I'll watch women's beach volleyball.

I watch the LPGA because the game they play is closer to mine in terms of club distances.  It's more interesting and applicable for me to watch how they manage the course versus the men.

Every time I find myself trying to do that off-the-wedge juggling thing, I feel like a moron and tell myself I should be working on something constructive. Maybe I should just set aside a few hours of time one day and join the club!

I like women, and I like golf, so of course the two go together well, and women look better in traditional women's golf attire than other sports.

But looks aside I think the LPGA does get too little attention, I guess they could use some better personalities, too many boring players that nobody really cares about rooting for.

There have been plenty of good looking female professional golfers. I'm just not entertained by the LPGA or women's golf in general. To be fair, I'm not all that into watching the PGA either unless it's a major or other big tournament. I'm more into playing golf than watching it.

This was an awesome finish.

I watch it because of the club selections and how they're playing the course. They're still playing a way longer course than I'm playing, but from similar distances they're making similar club selections.... well except for the likes of Lexi and Michelle.
