Okay did a 47/44 for a 91 on a blue tee 6328 yd course this AM. I was out doing an A/B on test balls for the #1 name in golf and the test balls hit really well. In fact I could not lose one. I had a really good time doing the comparison until...the group behind me, on the back 9, started to drive at me with no "four"... roughly 8 -10 yds away. these test balls are so good I bounced two of them off their cart top after yelling..."Four"..we had a meeting and discussed the situation. They still hit on me. In ending I do not think that any manufacturer would create a ball that you cannot  lose.

Played a course 6300 yards, rating 69, slope 117, par 72.  I shot an even par 72.  Chipped great today, missed 3 short easy birdie putts.  My lag putting was great today.  I had 3 sand save pars today, one was a 30 yard bunker shot and stuck it 18 inches from the hole.

I had been playing great, then had several weeks of a slump, but I'm pulling out of it now.  I need to dedicate a little more time to the range and practice green just a couple times a week for 30 minutes to really get back to where I was a month ago.  The rain every afternoon the last month has really put a damper on my practice time.

The most difficult distance in golf is the six inches between your ears.

Played the very beautiful Oaks Course at Dancing Rabbit in Philadelphia, MS this morning.  Holy cow is that course an awesome looking course.  But it turned out to be quite a hellish day.

White Tees

69.7/129

Score: 105

The whole course was the most amazing playing course I've ever been on.....until we got to the greens.  They had been punched and covered in sand and it was TERRIBLE!!  How can a course charge full price for playing on greens that are completely impossible to putt on?  I would think they would have at least let us know how bad the conditions were!  We were very disappointed as this was a road trip we had been looking forward to for months.  I am positive I would have kept up my under 100 streak I'm on had it not have been for these greens as the rest of my game was very consistent.

I played Sierra Sage Golf Course yesterday and shot my lowest round ever. The course is relatively easy but the greens were in great shape. I shot a 2 over 73 with 4 bogeys and 2 birdies.

While the course is pretty easy, I am still very happy with how I played. My driver cooperated and my (new) irons were pure. I really put a lot focus into each shot and my greenside play was the best its been.

I'm taking this confidence into my next round and hope to shoot a similar score at a tougher course.

Shot a 95 (49/46) at a course I usually play often at a lower score. Need to get out to the driving range more often, I think.

Shot 81 (par 71, Emerald Bay in Bullard, TX is home course).  38 front was a personal best, 43 back was very disappointing.  Par first and bogey on next three holes, which is pretty good for me because they are hard, narrrow, blind dog leg par 4's and a short par 3 where I struggle to hit the green.  Then on 5 hit best drive ever on the hole and started a string of 6 straight pars missing birdie chances by inches which was frustrating.  Then came 11 and 12.  Mishit in fairway from 120 on 11 put me in tough spot for chip in rough that led to a double.  Then par 5 12 with water encroaching, should have laid up off tee, but tried to go to left landing spot and went OB.  Tree trouble resulted in a triple.  Shot the wheels right off a career round.  Played two over the rest of the way including a 20 yard drive on a par three that the recovery shot landed 15 feet, missed putt, but good bogey given mishit.  Parred 17 and 18 which are very tough finishing holes, missed birdie on both by 2 inches.  0 birds, 11 pars, 5 bogeys, 1 double, 1 snowman.  81 with a snowman was pretty good.

Drove the ball great, approaches were better (12 fairways or first cut, 7 gir).  Needed to chip and putt better.  A lot better.

Kind of a strange nine holes this morning.  5 fairways and 7 greens and only shot 40.  Started out very rough at +4 though three, finished strong though.  I had two three putts.  The first one I just should not have made.  The second was such a difficult first putt that I should have actually used a wedge.

Saturday got an 87 at Meadowlark in Huntington Beach, not sure how i did that??

My driver was on, hit every fairway but one, what seemed to kill me was my irons off the tee, all the par 3's were a mess.

Good news I seemed to have fixed my pull, if I concentrate, bad news i need to fix my aim.....dam golf!

I am sure it was a fluke!

Hybrid's Callaway X2Hot 3 and 4.

Vokey Wedges SM5 Tour Chrome, 54*, 58*.

Putter Greyhawk, G25 4 wood, G25 Driver.

Ended up shooting a 99 yesterday. The pitching wedge is killing me. It is like I am afraid of overshooting the green from 100 yards and I end up slicing it.

What's in the bag?
2 Iron, 3 Iron, 4 Iron, 5 Iron, 6 Iron, 7 Iron, 8 Iron, 9 Iron, PW, GW, 3 Wood, 5 Wood, Putter
Titleist Irons, Callaway Woods and a Jack Nicklaus putter. Cigars and a case of Stella.

75 today. Par 70 though. 10 pars, 5 bogeys, a double and 2 birdies....not great and had a lot of birdie putts. Birdied the 18th with a 30 foot putt in front of a beer drinking crowd (lovely weather here) which was satisfying.

    • Day 134 (26 Apr 24) - played Minnesott today, worked with the mid-irons and approaches (especially the 7i).  Scoring was a little higher, but I was focused on making the needed adjustments to the swing to achieve desired distances.
    • I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.
    • Day 542, April 26, 2024 A lesson no-show, no-called (he had the wrong time even though the last text was confirming the time… 😛), so I used 45 minutes or so of that time to get some good work in.
    • Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
