Shot 84 today at Fayetteville Country Club off the back tees, (70.4/127). I have only played a couple of times and today the conditions were pretty tough. We have had a lot of rain the last few days and the course is really soaked.

I choked last night. We already have the league title sewed up. We clinched 3 weeks ago. I also have the scoring average title virtually locked up. I would need to explode in my last two rounds to even make it interesting. All that was left of my goals for the year was to have an average below 40 (granted, par is 31). I went into last night at 40.1. I figured that I had to shoot a combined 77 for the final two nights to pull it off. I was just off most of the night and lost 3 balls enroute to a 41. Now I am going to have to shoot a 36 on Wednesday to pull it off. It's not out of the question as I have shot 35 once and 36 twice this year. I have gone as low as 33 there.

Shot a 76 today. 70.8/125. Breakdown was 38/38. I lipped out a few birdie putts as well. Hit the ball great off of the tee today, chipped very well and putted well. Iron play was mediocre I thought. I ended up bogeying 3 of the last four holes today which bothered me, although I have to say I was nervous on the last few holes being that I was going to beat my best score ever. I ended up tying it though.

Shot a 91 at Laughlin AFB. I was 13 over going into #17 and a got a triple on a par three. UGH!!! I was so fed up that I bought a 56 deg wedge to replace my 60deg. Club championship at River Crossing is next week. Wish me luck.

86 . 10 pars, 5 bogies, 2 doubles, and 1 triple. Apart from the triple and doubles it was very easy. Just knock it toward the hole and tap it in. I'm most happy about my putting. I dunked a handful of 4-8 footers that really helped.

Shot a god awfull 117 yesterday. Club championship too. I had a 66 on the front and a 51 on the back. The 51 I got a 9 and an 11 so there is some hope, I had 3 par holes in a row. I need some amazing scores moving forward to do anything, I just wish I hadn't broken my driver Thursday, real bad timing on that one.

Round 2 shot a 101 with 7 pars and 4 eights, and one 10... How can you get 7 pars and shoot a 101?

85 . One lost ball and I can think of three strokes I should have saved, but that is my best round. Last time I played with the Fusion Wide Soles, this time with the regular Fusions. They definitely are more forgiving than my 690.CB's... as if I needed someone to tell me that.

I left the driver and three wood in the bag and just played my Nickent 20° off the tee all day. I hit quite a few greens, trusted my swing and made some more key putts. I am very pleased with the progress.

    • Good advice.  When you see a golfer taking short steps, looking down at the ground, it's probably checking for temporary water.  There are plenty of cases were just hitting it from the bad lie is better than where you would drop it. Like hitting of a cart path.
    • Yea I find it ridiculous people having an issue that he could drop in the fairway. Every relief situation is its own instance. You re-assess after a drop. Sometimes the drop is in your favor or not.  Too many scramble only golfers commenting on golf rulings. Usually scrambles you need to maintain the same lie if you hit with in a club length of the ball. 😉
    • MSN J. J. Spaun relief from sprinkler head under fire for not being in the spirit of the game. While I understand the advantage he gains by dropping a ball that ended up in rough in the fairway doesn't seem to kosher in lot of people's eyes, but I suspect this happens more often than lot of people realize and players take the entitled relief every time when the opportunity present itself. Not fair to call him out as a person of 'no integrity' IMO.  A lot of people do not know that both fairway and rough are part of the same general area and ROG does not distinguish them as far as relief is concerned.
    • Jack played in 7 tournaments in 1986. He was on his way out. He was not training or trying to be the best in the world. Honestly, he just caught some good golf at the right time.  Who says Jack wasn't battling injuries at that time either? A lot of stuff wasn't reported on until post 2000 in terms of covering athletes.  At what capacity? He can play, but he can't compete at any sort of level for the PGA or Senior Tour.  Yes, most of them walk away.
