That's cool! I played nine today. Shot 39. Didn't strike it great but good. Rolled the rock like crazy though. My last drive was a bomb! 302 (slight wind aid but mostly cross). Felt so GOOD!!

76 (+4)

41 front, 35 back (-1).

really good score for me. two birds and an eagle on the back. par 5 into the wind. 300 off the tee, 225 (uphill and into wind - playing 245) on the green in 2 and sunk a 10 foot uphill putt with a cup and half right break.

I hit a 73 today on a par 69 associated links course. that is set-up with not many bunkers put with huge rolling green-side mounds.

i only pulled out my driver once.

i was basically practicing attacking the greens on middle irons.

it seems to pay off.

although i did miss a dead-straight two footer for birdie!

76 at Lake View from the Blue-ish tees. We have no tees yet and 15 or so of the greens are temporary greens (in front of the green, in the fairway, which counteracts the lack of distance you get from roll fairly well.)

Scorecard is here .

One of the... I think three?... holes with the flag in the actual green, I birdied. The way I keep score (putts inside of 6 feet are all good) with temporary greens removes the ability to make many birdies, but it gives back in letting you make some pars you might not normally make, too. Overall, it's been pretty accurate.

Had a horribly inconsistent round at Sandy Ridge CC in a high school match the other day. Shot a 44 with 4 doubles, a birdie when I drove the green! and an eagle on a short par five, where I sunk about a 25 footer for a 3. But I still came in a tie for 5th place out of about 30 golfers, so im not too mad.

UGH!!!
First round of the season today. Pretty soggy conditions although they had no impact on my play. Could not get off the tee at all. No excuses.
Shot 47 on the front 9 of a course that I don't play much (my course isn't open yet). 11 over with a chip in bird (picture perfect) and a par on the par 5 9th..... Very happy with the short game but overall....... Not good. Time to go to the range....

Shot 44-40 for my first full round back. Played with Darrell Green, who played with the Redskins a couple years back. Never thought I'd see him on my Muni!

But to my round, terribly inconsistant with wedges. Irons and driver were working at about 80%. Putting would get hot and cold constantly. Made a 25ft birdie on 12 and a 30ft par save on 13. Birdied 9 after an approach shot to 6 feet. Greens were terribly aerated as well.

It was a good day...

Tourney play at McCormick Woods, Port Orchard, WA.

Started to pour rain on the 11th hole. Dbl bogey 11, 12, and 13. Sigh. Lost concentration, took a bit to recover. Still... came in 2nd place in my division made my money back.

Finally got to play here in Michigan. 42-39 for an 81. Great off the tee as I hit 9/14 fairways (two were a couple yards off) which was my achilles heel last year. Couldn't putt, had no short game, but that will come around. Not a bad day.

42! Could have been better, I had a 3 putt on the first (no warm-up and wintery greens hurt me there), missed a 4 footer for par on the third, and a 3 footer for birdie on the 8th. Doubled the 6th... One day it will click.

I'm ba-ack!! Well, I hope! Shot 77 today. 9 fairways, 13 greens, but 36 putts. Didn't drive it great but it wasn't bad either. Kept it in play. My iron play was best it's been in a long time. Enjoyable round (no wind today!)

    • Only two things I'd worry about a little right now (though this is without seeing face-on views… you know better!) Stop extending the right knee so much. Hands have to move a bit more aggressively "away" (from the target and ball), perhaps with some forearm twisting clockwise from your POV, to start the downswing.
    • I haven’t posted a video in quite a while (or practiced for that matter) due to some health issues. I was able to get a couple of down-the-line videos today at the range. Still have a bit of the same issues, but it’s playable while I work on the swing. I apologize for the construction noise. I do notice my rehearsal swing has higher hands than my final swing. I’ll try to get some face on swings at my home setup in the near future.
    • Golfers want consistency. It begins with consistency of: recording your swing often putting the camera in the same place with the same angles, height, etc. focusing on one thing when you do look at the camera
    • A good video on why measuring your swing, like with a GEARS system, is key to really figuring out what is going on in the swing.  One thing I didn't know, or didn't put two and two together, that the lens on your camera can impact how you view your swing using video. The part where they show the swing stopped, all three images are the same position of the same swing, but with different lenses on the camera shocked me a bit.  If you are going to use a camera, just realize it has limitations, and the importance to use the same camera with the same camera set up as much as possible for consistency.
    • Thanks. I hope I do but I think I'm going to get stuck at 98 as two of the remainder tracks are notoriously difficult get on.   I have Turnberry, Troon, Skibo Castle, Ardfin and Crail Craighead left. I have a round at Turnberry booked in for later this year. Troon is accessible but the green fee is extortionate (compared to what we are used to) so I may go for that in 2027. Crail Craighead is easy enough through member guest sign on's so won't be an issue.  Skibo Castle is a private, exclusive members club who do not allow guests at all full stop. You have to know a member, who are very rare and secretive (often celebrities, like Harry Styles or other worldwide business types for example, who are supposedly members). So it is basically impossible and I am likely to be stuck with this one. Ardfin whilst bookable for the average joe - is bordering on extortion and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to afford it. You have to stay over at their 'hotel' and you have to book it out for X amount of people for at least two days and it costs upwards of 15-20k. Even if you divide that by say 12 players it's still far too much money unfortunately. With a bit of luck at somepoint in the future they may introduce a day rate, they had one a few years ago for 500 (GBP).  Fingers crossed however. I managed to get on the exclusive Loch Lomond easier than I thought it would be!
