My favorite ball mark repair tool is one of the same design as the one stamped "Old Works" in this picture. I got four or five of them for free when a course changed names (Vista Ridge became Colorado National after being acquired by a new owner) and they seem to work the best of any I've used previously.

amazon.com has them.

I got these both to try out. The second ones are a little bit thicker but will do a good job.

I'll keep those in mind should I run out of the stock that I grabbed up, but this thread gave me an idea for a project in the machine shop. It would be a pretty simple sheet metal operation, run it on a CNC mill with a tape plate to shape it and add any writing wanted, finish it off with a chamfer mill around the edges to smooth it all out and make it look nice (flycut the faces and buff the faces/edges for a good polish), then just use a brake to bend it to the appropriate angle. Just need to be careful to start with shallow enough passes to not rip it off the tape with such a small part, but other than that it would actually be pretty easy to make a nice custom tool.

We'll want photos of the finished product! :-)

I will provide should I have time. Likely not this semester, as I'm too busy with going out and golfing (and classes too, I guess), but come December or January when the courses are all closed I'll have more time for a project like this.

If you want to make some TST-specific ones, we may buy a hundred or so…
