I would like to find a little gizmo that would attach to one of my Clicgear wheels that would measure distances in yards. Not in feet.

Just divide it by 3 mate, it's really not that hard

(2) A tracking device that allows one to always find the ball.

Yep, and you know how easy it would be as well. The fact is that no manufacturer will do it, and for obvious financial reasons

A long time ago, Ping made a cool Sunday bag, basically a tube with legs. Have never been able to find it on eBay or anywhere else.

Well, if he did that it definitely won't give him distances in yards.. A lot harder than you thought eh? :)

I've been trying to find the Talent Grip. This grip interfaces with your club, your neuro-muscular system, and your brain and determines the amount of golf talent you actually have, and immediately you learn a decent golf swing. For the cost of an annual subscription, you can have the swing of Jason Day, Rory McIlroy, or any of two hundred professional golfers uploaded. Golf should be fun. Stop hacking your way around the course. The foursome behind you will appreciate your faster pace of play, too!

And THAT is why it is so hard to find equipment that is marked up only 10%

Even so- The markup at retail is 30-40%.. but on a $400 driver it's almost 100% markup from wholesale. So I'll go with wholesale being their "bottom" line. And even a company's "bottom line" has a cushion of profit built in to that. So even AFTER all the research, endorsement, rent, etc... they could make money along the line at a 10% markup on the supply chain.

If, for example, TM were to sell the new M1 for $275. How many MORE would they sell at that price than the $450 it is going for (approx). My guess is a LOT more. Ford didn't make money by selling a hundred cars at a million dollars a piece, he made it by selling a MILLION cars at $100 a piece.

Remember that net profit margins are not proportionate to gross margins as sales increase and price drops.

For example, consider a company selling a driver for $200 and nett profit is $50.

Now if they sell the same driver for $400, instead of $200, nett profit increases to $250.

So by doubling the price, they have actually increased nett profit by 500%.

Even then if they are sellinghalf the drivers of what they did before the prce increase, they are still making way way more that with the lower price.

Simplified example but something along those lines :-)
