I'm a little late to this thread but, WOW! Sounds like the dream trip of a lifetime, and you got to meet The King! That has to be the topper of all toppers! I've never taken an extended golf trip, but we kind of do the same thing locally utilizing Golfnow and Golf 18 Network. We like to play new places, and these have enabled us to get on places we formerly couldn't. We always make sure there's a really good restaurant nearby, and make a full day of it.

BTW, I have a golf towel from Orange County National. I found it in the rough to the right of the 18th tee on the North Course at Mill Creek Park Golf Course in Youngstown, Ohio! This was on the day after Thanksgiving, our last round of last year. I have no idea how it came to be there. I wandered over there to take a pee (no, I couldn't hold it), and there it was. I flipped it over with a stick to make sure someone didn't take a dump there and wipe their butt with it! Once it dried out, I laundered it and it is the thickest, heaviest, thirstiest, most substantial golf towel I own! Heck, I have bath towels that I paid good money for that don't compare!

Wanted to bump this as the 2017 Orlando golf trip is scheduled to start this coming Sunday. Bella Collina, Bay Hill, 36 at Grand Cypress, Tranquilo Golf Club, and Waldorf Astoria. This year the average handicap going is a 9 so it should be pretty competitive. Ill be sure to post a recap when we get back from the trip.

A good mix of courses, and the weather should be great for you!  Have fun!

One recommendation.  Check with each course in advance to ensure that they're not going to be aerating.  It's that time of year...   ;-)

That sounds like a great trip, tough to beat last years, dang, hanging with the Man and all. But your off with a solid plan. Look forward to the report.

My wife seems to end being my golf buddy on most of my golf trips. Used to be my brother then he got busy but it's good fun with the dear one since I usually win the long drive competition.

Hi, I live on a small island in the Pacific Ocean.

We have a pretty crazy spreadsheet with all the side bets on top of the modified stableford game. It could be expensive, but it will be fun either way.

    • I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.
    • Day 542, April 26, 2024 A lesson no-show, no-called (he had the wrong time even though the last text was confirming the time… 😛), so I used 45 minutes or so of that time to get some good work in.
    • Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
    • Oh yea, now I remember reading about you on TMZ!
