Yes, I had to log in twice! In two days! And because whatever it is that remembers my password didn't work, I'm forced to jump through hoops! So sorry that I'm not as computer literate as the great master!

I like new features as long as they are easy to access.

Here's my assessment of my computer acumen.I left click, I right click, and sometimes I double click left. That's about it! Oh! And I can scroll up and down with the wheel on my mouse! Wow!

I think you need to understand that all your users aren't ciber gurus out here!

Are you 70 years old? Geez. The password save function is on your end. Really very low end stuff. Calm down buckeye. No offense to computer literate 70 year olds.

Bumping an old thread, rather than starting a new one.

Since the end of last week, I'm having to log in on this forum a lot, on my iPad, iPhone, MBP, and also on an android tablet.  Usually don't ever have to log in at all.

I recall that there were updates to iOS and macOS last week, but that wouldn't explain why it's now happening with android as well. Other websites aren't giving me this same problem--just TST.

Not that I know of. Do those things, yes.

I had deleted cache and history on each of my devices back on 7/26, and the problem persisted. (My logs in were set to remember me.) I don't know why, but the problem appears to have resolved today.

Actually pretty close to it! I'll turn 65 next month. When it was my turn to learn about computers they were still large machines with tape drives, housed in glass walled air conditioned rooms, tended to by people in white lab coats!

And they still programmed with Fortran on punch cards! Remember "Don't fold, bend, spindle, or mutilate"? I do!

I am not unintelligent, but, I suppose, like many people my age I'm not all that comfortable with change, especially if there's no advance warning. Whoever the software developers are who created this latest iteration of the "The Sand Trap", I see you working! You've tried to keep the appearance the same, as much as possible, but there are changes. In your post Valley, the "reputation heart" symbol is different than it was before.

And after resetting my password for the third time in three days, the little box that comes up asking if Microsoft or whoever should remember my password, changed to should The Sandtrap RESET my password. That sounds a bit more like what I want to happen.

I'll just soldier on and see how it goes.

OK! I just soldiered on and got screwed again! Tried twice to post the above reply with no success. Re-rentered the thread and scrolled to see if it had posted without me being able to see it. Nope! Then I found out I had to log on again! Don't try to tell me something isn't going on here! I know web forums have issues when the software is changed. I also know this is necessary because websites of this type are under constant attack by hackers. I just wish things were thought out a bit more in advance, and users were warned of the disruption possible.

Yep. One of the features is that you can now be more specific with why you're giving a little reputation.

It's pretty much just you. But you also seem to have finally checked the "remember me?" checkbox.

My suspicion is that they update the site and possibly find another bug and update it again. Not sure this is correct but it seems like the login is reset at least twice with updates.

He's not the only one.  I've had to re-log back in, often. And I've always clicked the remember me checkbox.  Sometimes  it happens several times a day from my IPAD and IPhone and other times not at all.  I just deal with it.  Takes and extra couple of clicks.

I like the changes and the way the site looks - haven't had to log in more than once since they happened either.

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

Let me know if that's been happening in the past few days. They made changes to the log-in stuff. Basically, each time you log in, it extends a key, and sometimes two keys could get out of sync or something. This really only ever happened if you used multiple devices.

Like you, Jerry… you're logged in to eight different devices. :-)

Automatic Login will happen if the user checked the Remember Me box when logging in within the last 3 months and has not logged out on that device since.

That's the time period wherein things can get goofy and the keys can become mismatched. Sometimes when you log in on a new device it can reset the login on other devices. Supposedly they've fixed this, but very occasionally it could cause problems.

You two are still in a small minority, though. No consolation I understand… but not much I can do here.

Thanks. There's a small bug with the search bar, but I "kinda" worked around that for most by changing up the menu slightly.

Yeah just happened right now, had to re-log in.  Should only have 3 devices?  My computer at work, my IPAD and my IPHONE.  But I have used my wife's computer and IPAD as well in the past, although I thought I logged out of those, but as you get older your memory starts to go.

Look for yourself. You can log yourself out of all of the devices you don't frequently use. Try that - it may help things.

Happened again, so logged out of everything but the IPAD I'm currently on,let's see if that helps.

Oddly enough, the "remember me" box was "pre-clicked"! And I logged in today problem free!

Don't try to fool me! I see you working!

    • Of course. I've used different words to start, but like 90-95% of the time it's been this one. And I'm unlikely to switch now.
    • Welcome to TST @Camjr.   We're glad you've joined.
    • Angle is not a factor. I hit the ball 100’ high. Par is net birdie. My CH is 16. The rough between the bunkers is like 10’ wide though. That’s not something you’re going to try to hit on purpose. Most of the area to the left of that is fescue/native vegetation and I’m pretty sure there isn’t a flat lie in any of it. It’s the second hole.
    • Hello all.  I'm about to be 57 yrs old, started playing when I was 16, and have quit and restarted the game more times than I can count.  I had started playing a weekly round with a friend, and finally made the jump to Senior A shafted Tour Edge clubs.  Instantly gained 10 yds with an easier swing (why didn't I make that jump sooner???).  Glad to be a part of the group. Cheers all,
    • I think I like this hole.  It is a clear "Risk-Reward" choice.  Since most of the shots in your cone cleared the bunkers I would say they are a minor risk and not a big issue.  Playing the aggressive line may give you 70ish yards in from what looks to be playable rough while conservative play is 120ish from fairway.  I know you said 70 vs 120 is minor for you but how does the approach angle in impact your results?  I figure both strategies are playing for Birdie since holing out from either is mostly luck. Looking at your proximity hole I think it says @ 50 feet when hitting from the fairway from 100-150 and 40 feet if hitting 50-100 from the rough.  Neither of those is an easy birdie putt.   I like the approach angle from the rough between the bunkers & the adjacent tees over the angle from @ 120 in the fairway but I really do not like the idea of hitting onto the adjacent tee boxes and that may impact my confidence with making the shot.  Also, too far left may be a worse approach angle then from the fairway short of the bunkers. For me this may come down to how confident do I feel when I reach that tee box.  If I am stroking it well off the tee leading up to the hole I would try for over the bunkers and the better angle in but if I am struggling that day I would likely opt for the fairway to take more bad stuff out of play.
