538 got some data from Spotify on what songs were associated with workout playlists. An interesting statistic is the BPM of the song. It looks like the most common range is 120-140 BPM. 

If you work out what is your playlist?

I have a huge variety of artist on my iPod nano. The general trend are faster paced songs. I just put it on random play and go from there.

I tend to pick an artist and play through a CD. For working out I usually listen to Greenday or Eminem.

I have iPod nano with variety of alternative music, indie, rock and heavy metal. Put it on shuffle and I'm good to go

I look forward to trying some of these suggestions.

I jump around from pop to big band, but one interesting genre if you simply want to tune out the distractions in "trance".

You can define a trance station on Pandora.

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

I think this is the number one according to 538's list

 

 

And here is Kanye's contribution coming in at #8. I actually think these would be good golf workout songs because of that beat. But I wonder if your typical golfer listens to this stuff.
