Have been playing for 2 months.  My own comment on these videos is that yes, I notice my front leg bends quite a bit.  When I have my leg completely planted, I have a tendency to leave the club open and get some major major slices.  Have changed position slightly, and getting straighter and more distance.  Not all my swings have this much movement, but attached are the vids I got from this weekend.  I have done front and side, in normal speed and slow mo

Please upload your videos to YouTube and then embed them here.

You sway back away from the target in the backswing, I'd work on this first:

You are rolling your weight onto the outside of your right foot.   You need to keep your weight on the inside of the right foot.   I think this will keep your head from moving so much, and allow you to get your weight shifted more forward on the downswing.   Try keeping your right foot more flat on the ground, with the weight on the inside of the foot.

Then, on the down swing, tuck your right elbow into your side as you slide your hips forward so your weight shifts.   I see your front foot coming off the ground after the club hits the ball.   That tells me you have failed to shift your weight forward.

Be very patient on the down swing.   Don't worry about the club hitting the ball.   It'll hit the ball.   Just get your weight forward and extend your arms so they are extended even after you hit the ball.   A foot beyond the ball, your arms should be straight.  Extend.  Keep your head still.   Extend your arms.

2 months in, you're doing great.

Thanks for that ... to be honest, I hadn't noticed, but can keep a check on that.  I've had about 4 x 30 mins lessons .. but with 2 different instructors (the latest one get on better with - he seems to explain better)

Bit of a breakthrough last week, in realising why I was slicing so much ... previous instructor said "I had to keep my left leg and foot grounded all the time" .. that prevented me from getting body twist ... just with the front leg moving now, I can get more rotation .. just need to work on not using the front leg as much

    • I would recommend spending some time at the range and film your swing. You can post it in the Member Swings thread. At the range, you can figure out how to control the driver a bit more. We can offer some pointers once you post in the Member Swings section.
    • With the H4 or the watch, you tag the club before hitting by putting the tag next to the device. The tag is on the club butt end. After a round, you don’t really think about it too much. You just do it. I don’t know how far you are from @phillyk, but he may know an instructor in your area.
    • So the biggest issue right now is marrying the hands down with an athletic turn. I can get stuck not turning. Things get interesting from there.

    • Hi everybody!  I am new to the golf game. I have taken some lessons and got fitted for clubs a couple of months ago. I usually score between 110-120 for 18 holes.  I bought a Stealth driver last year and have been hitting consistently with it 210-230 yds on the simulator. But when I take it out on the course, every drive is a severe slice!  I played 18 holes yesterday at the club where I belong. I removed the driver from my bag and used the 5 iron to drive with. I hit straight 16 out of 18 drives, 180 - 200 yds. I used the 5i - putter for the rest of my game.  I ended the day with a 92. Question: Does it make sense for me to continue playing with irons only until I get further along in my game before I reintroduce the Driver and woods again? Or should I continue to struggle with the Driver and woods and shoot in the 100’s again? To me it’s a no brainer, but for those more advanced I am interested to get feedback.
