Don't perpetuate the stereotype, eh I live in Canada and played golf yesterday on a gorgeous west coast day. Not all of Canada is under snow! Welcome to the forum and hope Spring comes early for you.

Welcome and I feel your winter pain. I was able to get in a few buckets at the range this weekend but that's about the best I'll be able to do until spring. Lets hope for a mild winter.

Methinks that golf forum membership goes up in the winter when it's snowed in. So to scratch that golf itch (sort of) we all... join up together...

agreed. i live for the summer. Unfortunately there is a rather long waiting period here in the midwest.

Now that I live in the south, I really take advantage of the year-round season! This past sunday, I spent 2 hours at the range hitting drivers and long irons, then went home and practiced my short game on my backyard green. Sure beats the years in Chicago and Ohio chipping and putting in the basement!

With that said, for anyone living in the tundra (ok, anything north of "the south"), use the winter to putt, chip and repeat. If you spend the time now, your short game will be much improved when you venture to the course in the spring!

Now, it's Christmas and the backyard lights just came on, I think I'll go out and practice some putting...

This week, there was 1 inch of snow, and i found it hard! Frozen grreenns are a nnightmarre! A Bit Chilly haha!

I can barely play when the temp drops below 50
Golf is so popular simply because it is the best game in the world at which to be bad.

We had almost 60 degrees on Saturday here in Colorado, but the wind was consistently clowing around 35 mph with 65+ mph gusts. Then Sunday, no wind but it snows with a high of 35 degrees, we just can't catch a break. Oh well, my putting mat is getting a lot of use.

I love Minnesota. I was golfing in shorts untill November 25th when the temps were in the mid 40's. I don't think there are a lot of folks from the north that would pass up a round of golf as long as there is no snow on the ground and the courses are open.
