If I'm using a cart I'll pick the club up and race up to the next group. That usually gets it to its owner otherwise , and if walking, it goes to the pro shop unless the owner shows up

I don't keep record of the rounds I play. I guess more then 200 at least. When at home I average 4 per week. That changes during vacations. Last was a two week 20 rounds vacation in the Orlando area.

Oh wait, this 4 per week is more like 4 days per week, sometimes two rounds a day. So :8)

But I don't practice on range...

And I thought I played a lot

Wow...I thought I played a lot too..

I retired in May but was able to get in just over 80 rounds this year.   It looks like today may be the last day of the year for golf.   The forecasts aren't too favorable.

Here in Canada, I played 10 rounds this summer. I'm hopeful next year, I will pass that. My goal is to play more than practice.

I counted it up to be 22 rounds at 7 different courses.  I would have had more but my son played football this year so I missed 8 - 12 rounds I normally would have played.

I normally average well over 100 rounds along with more than a few years over 200.  My priorities have changed for the next 4 years and then I'll be back......wedges blazing!!!

I stopped my 2016 golf season cold turkey after the first week of september.........just shy of 80 rounds.  This is the first time I have not eclipsed 100 in over 25 years.   Yes...I'll be back playing again next year, but hitting 100 is highly doubtful.   In 4 years....I'll be in golf "Golf Beast Mode"......

This is my second year really dedicating much more time and effort in playing. Last year I've played maybe 10 rounds while this year (April to November), I've played about 35 rounds of golf and its showing!...in my bank account too.

    • My flop shots are 6-7° down (AoA). Does that answer it? 😄  The longer answer is… You have to be able to do both shots.
    • I hope you don't mind me raising this one from the dead. I got shortgamechef's video access thing for a few months in 2024. I watched his yip fix videos (the general gist is similar to the first video above, but with a lot more detail) and it made a lot of sense. I was working on it in my backyard off a mat for a while and my yippy thing was mostly gone. Aside from anything else, the flop shot using that technique is so easy and controllable. But I got onto a golf course for the first time of the year and found myself by the green on a downslope with the ball sitting down a little in the rough and I was, not to put too fine a point on it, f***ed. Shallow is all well and good from a good flat lie and I understand it, but you can't make that your be all and end all. I still don't know if it's a good idea to use steep all the time or just when you need to. I have a hard enough time with one technique, let alone too.  Just got a pitching skillest lesson with Erik and unless I misunderstood things some, he wants me a bit steeper. @iacas - where do you fall on the steep vs shallow argument and how do you vary it according to need?
