So again today in the middle of a round my game golf live crashed, lost all my info. This happened a week ago also, anyone else have this happen? Sucks because I really like the system but now I have doubts

I haven't had it happen. But I also just plug the thing into the computer and upload.

What phone/OS/etc. are you using?

I'm using a iPhone, I wondered about that, wasn't it really designed for android?

Yep, seems to happen around hole 10 both times

No. Not really.

Has it just happened on one course? Have you contacted their support? They're very responsive.

Explain "crashed"
Crash as in the phone locked up the App?
Or, lost Bluetooth signal?
Does the receiver shut down?
How long have you used the GG Live?

My wife has setup issues sometimes (user error) lol.
I lost a round last Friday, I connected my classic and started the upload.
Went to review the round and it did not upload to the server.
Re-launched the connection and no round on device.

As Erik mentioned, GG support is very helpful.

Last month I contacted them and had them change the ratings for my course.
The following day I played and the round would not upload (I'm guessing they were in process of updating my course)
A few days later the rounds appeared.

It's like the app froze, I looked at my watch(apple) and it said to start a round on my phone, looked at my phone and it was not on the app anymore and would not let me resume the round.

Sounds like the "Receiver" lost BT connection.
The phone must stay in Range of the Receiver.

Example, if you leave the phone in a cart and walk 60 ft away from it and when you return the phone goes into a re-pairing mode.

Really need more details of the event which lead up to the time of the problem.
IE; Are you able to view the Blue Location dot on the phone at all times?
Does the phone show each shot tagged while playing?
Can you review previous hole tags as you play?
Can you Edit tag locations on your phone?

I'm not familiar with the watch functions (not a user), but doesn't the watch only show distance to green?
I'm guessing the watch could display scores and other features.

I've had this happen a couple times, but in my case I had the NFC in my phone on. Never happened again after I turned that off.

Curious, because the data was still in the unit when you edit. I stopped using the unit for the past couple months and use the NFC or tap with only the app only. Hasn't seemed to crash lately.

Yeah, GG is really handy. You don't really have to think about it.

Now, all we need is a plugin to add "Shot Zones" to the hole map. :-D

This was my second time ever trying this, I leave the phone in my pocket during the round and view distance and shot number on my watch. My rounds show up on the phone as in progress but won't let me in to do anything. Both times at around hole 10 I look at my watch for distance and it tells me to start a round on the phone, look at the phone and the app is closed .

This happened on my classic a couple times as well in early March. In both cases, they had the data and got it loaded to my account in a day or two.

When I looked in their support pages back then, I seem to recall that there were different steps for recovering data from the Live unit than the Classic. Point is, @Kloeshuman, your data might be there--Support might be able to work it through.

I've also noted a problem with the Live unit when starting on the 10th hole--it won't let me make the turn to 1, and wants me to finish the 9 hole round and restart for the front 9. Your problem sounds similar. Again, support might want to know about it as they work through the bug.

I think there is a selection when you load your course to play (Front, Back, or 18 holes?) the game setup choices? on the phone?
Could it have been you selected to Play Nine holes only? Instead of playing 18?

I need to grab my wife's Live Device and re-familiarize how the setup works.

She robbed me of it last Christmas when I bought. She tricked me into giving it to her by saying "Oh, thanks Dear, that was so nice of you"

@Kloeshuman maybe this will help or provide an answer.

I was able to recover the rounds , after re linking the unit I was then able to go in and edit . I will have to check my options next time I go out and make sure I have selected 18, that would make sense why it did it both times at number 10

Also, 27-hole and 36-hole facilities with three and four separate "nines" treat them as nine-hole rounds.

    • Sure, but how was your alignment? 🙂 Day 53 - 2024-11-22 Mirror work after getting back home. Wife is a superstar for her career/job/whatever.
    • I would say your back nine is the second nine you play that day. It's part of what makes getting some of those holes tougher. Or, if 18 holes are played pretty often, out of A, B, and C, and you often play A and C, A is the front and C is the back, regardless of the order you play them in. That way not birdieing C #7 isn't overcome by birdieing the easier A #7 on a day you played it C-A instead of A-C. But, at the end of the day, nobody really cares except yourself.
    • Day 128: played 9. Nice little even 9, with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys.
    • @DeadMan, I think your approach makes sense. As @dennyjones said, consistency is the key.
