I usually go to the range by myself and don't really feel comfortable asking a stranger to hold my phone. So i am curious if any of you use a budget setup to video yourselves at the range ?  Any ideas would go a long way here. I am just trying to see if my swing is in any way, shape or form close to what i think im feeling.   Im not really looking to disect my swing frame by frame, but just see my swing and get the shot shapes and such.  My old camera i used 15 years ago has long since died but i would hit a shot and motion to the camera what the ball did. I am hoping to do this again.

Thanks

Lots of cheap tripods and tripod adapters on the market for phones these days. Can also be done on the cheap if you already have a tripod with a standard mount...

This. My tripod and smartphone adapter probably cost a combined $40. Not nothing, and certainly you could go cheaper, but it works pretty well, is portable, and isn't going to fall over or anything when I'm taking video.

In my bag:

Thanks fellas. I didn't know they had cell phone adaptors for tripods. I still have my old tripod so will look into that. Thanks again.

Joby Gorillapod for me - really cheap and does the job perfectly as it grips to the bag handle.

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

What's in the bag: Callaway X2 Hot Driver, Titleist 915F 3 wood, X2 Hot 3 Hybrid, 3, 5-AW Apex Pro irons, 54*, 58* Cleveland RTX, Odyssey Versa 1 Putter

That's what I use, in exactly the same way.  There are a bunch of options, depending on what you're using to take the video, but the flexible legs work well on top of my golf bag

Just wanted to says thanks for the ideas guys. I went to best buy today and they had a clip that mounts right to my existing tripod.

I took it straight to the range and what an eye opening experience. I had no idea that at the top of my backswing I was getting that laid off. Definitely didn't feel like I was but now I have something to work on and when that is fixed move on to the next. Really felt like I was going the right way towards the end of my practice session. Plenty of more work to be done though. Great $19.99 investment.

Again thanks.

Just put in the order for one of these.  Frustrated at trying to set my phone on my bag and having it tilt or fall over while videoing my swing.  Thanks!

Fairways and Greens.

Don't thank me, thank @iacas.  He recommended the Gorillapod his article about filming your swing:
