I've always been mainly a Taylormade club guy but interested in adding the Callaway Apex Forged irons to my bag. Ive heard nothing but great things about these irons and they look beautiful.  I was gaming the Taylormade M2 irons before.  Anyone have any experience? How was the ball flight and forgiveness level?

Just by chance I used a Apex Forged 7i to warm up before I tested some drivers. It really felt good, and I warmed up to it fast. I later tried multiple irons from set at a demo day.

If I were going to replace my current irons, it would likely be with the Apex Forged (originals, not CF16s) or the new Steelheads.

The Apex Forged are reasonably easy to hit. In Callaway PreOwned, you'll see both stock XP95 shaft versions, and more competitive shafts such as Recoil 110 F4 (Stiff). Only three available in C-PO, but in June there were about two dozen sets - most of them were in average condition, meaning that many original owners had "use them up" on the course. This means not many people dumped them after a couple of months - they kept 'em and played 'em.

I have been playing them for a couple years.  I am very pleased.  Surprisingly forgiving.  Hardly feel the impact on good strikes.

Be aware like many of the modern irons they are lower spinning which accounts for some of the added distance.  On firm greens and I mean greens you are unlikely to encounter it can be hard to get balls to stop.  I have not found it to be a problem.

Apex or Apex pro?  I only ask because when I was testing irons this year before i bought my new set I hit them both at length.  The Apex Pro are a much better feeling in my opinion.  Very comparable to the Mizuno MP-25s I got or the Titleist AP2s.  But, in the same line as the Apex, I felt like the Titleist AP1's were a much better iron.   felt more crisp on center-face hits and, at the same time, more forgiving on the mishits.  just one man's opinion.  results will vary from user to user...

Careful, though..   both The Apex and Apex pro are a much smaller head than your M2's.   either one will take some getting used to.  just remember that just because you don't hit them as well at first (especially the long irons), doesn't me you won't be able to in time.

I have the apex and like them fine. Feel is good IMO.  They do spin a little less as mentioned.  Pretty forgiving for the type of  iron. I have a little trouble feeling the miss and hitting consistent yardages (prob more me than the club's). I'm not a long hitter necessarily but I think my next set I will pick something that's not so designed for max distance. Irons are a really personal preference thing and I know a ton of people love them. Just test a few out and get fitted
